If you are okay with a random individual having unrestricted access to your phone number and address then i am assuming the app and service would be okay.
They take your details on the app, then deploy some random person who then asks to send your location on his whatsqpp number so he can come to your house. If youre a woman this is not safe. It is also not safe if you dont want your full details to be with unknown individuals.

Unprofessional service
Very disappointing experience. I used ScrapUncle after many years expecting a transparent and professional service, but the experience was quite the opposite.
* The pickup executive arrived before my scheduled 2–5 PM slot and refused to come back during the booked time, forcing me to change my plans.
* He refused to collect a child pram because it contained both metal and plastic, even though I offered tools to dismantle it.
* There was no published rate for brown paper grocery bags. When I requested clarification, the support executive on speaker arbitrarily suggested ₹2–₹3/kg and, when I questioned the unpublished pricing, instructed the pickup executive to leave without collecting the scrap. This was extremely rude and unprofessional.
* After weighing everything, I was informed of the total payable amount, and I agreed to proceed and shared my UPI details. A few minutes later, without any explanation or my consent, the amount transferred to my account was lower than what had initially been communicated, after the pickup executive claimed there was an issue with the pricing of a baby high chair and kids' skates. There was no revised calculation or justification provided before the payment was made.
* I tried contacting customer support immediately, but no one answered and only a callback message was played.
The entire experience felt more like dealing with an unorganised local scrap dealer than a professional, technology-enabled company. Pricing lacked transparency, customer service was discourteous, and there was no accountability. Unless these issues are addressed, I would not use ScrapUncle again or recommend it to others.

Billing fraud
They will show you that the product is weighed at x kg and then at the time of billing they will only include half of it, Rider is telling something else and app is showing something else.
This is a fraud activity as the billing is controlled by app which they tweak at the back end. There’s no transparency in billing.
Uninstall this app and use local scrap folks atleast they will do everything in front of you.

10kg limit
I wanted to recycle some paper and books, and i searched up before hand of good recycling apps that don’t have a minimum limit of scrap needed, but the moment i downloaded this app and scheduled pickup it said that due to economic contraints they cannot pick up scrap below 10kg. ScrapUncle should be transparent about this beforehand.

This is one of those apps where i feel good i came across this service. They are very genuine and good. This is similar to blusmart cabs where they made such a high quality solution to and honest and very reliable.
