Needs updating
I love this app and use it constantly. I just wish they would update the range maps. Many are out of date and often the southern portion of the map is not visible, so you can’t see the winter range. If it was a free app I wouldn’t complain.
Great app, but it needs more frequent taxonomic updates
This is the best bird guide for North America out there, but it doesn't get updated frequently enough. It's been a year since the Warbling Vireo was split into two species and the app hasn't changed yet.
There are also a few exotic species that have recently become established that the book does not include, most notably Burrowing Parakeet. A lot of the parrot information in general is outdated as well.
And finally, Long-billed and Short-billed Dowitchers could use finer details and maybe some closeups of how the scapular feather patterns differ.

Great resource, easy to use, and an amazing customer support team! Definitely worth a purchase if you’re an avid birder on the go.
Sibley Birds app is great
I love the app as the pictures are fantastic and it is easy to navigate quickly.

Almost there
Easy to search and identify birds. Extra detail to differentiate from other species is useful and sound recordings are handy. A little clunky while navigating within a selected bird as it tends to open panels within panels rather than use the screen real estate more efficiently. One major disappointment is when using the split screen function to view two apps t once, it’s not possible to search and view a species. For example, I like to have my Photos app open and split the screen with Sibley to perform side by side comparison but this does not work with Sibley v2

Great mobile resource
As a sucker for bird illustrations, I love being able to have this resource on my phone. Great layout, features, and info.

I live in Tennessee and for the

Discontinued the 1st edition in a cynical cash grab
Same mediocre illustrations, same maps, same pretty much anything. Happy to charge everyone twice for it though.
Excellent field guide
Can narrow down to season and location. I highly recommend this app.
Disappointed
I have the book and I like it. I thought the app will offer extra search tools and more information and links. The app is just only the photos in the book with less info and bad design.

I really enjoy the app (and the book) but how about an update so it works well with ios 17? It’s glitchy, doesn’t scroll correctly and needs to be restarted often.

This might not be the best app for a complete novice, but once you know enough to realize what two birds you want to compare, the app is fabulous.
Good while it lasted
I just deleted this app from my phone after 13 years of patronage. I’m unable to comprehend why this company cares less about the long term users that built their customer base, while placing profit above all else. I sent them several messages to this effect, and never received a single reply. I think I know where their loyalties lie.
