Great App. Great Courses.

No need to spend thousands of dollars when you can learn from great teachers on Skillshare! I wish I knew about Skillshare before I took an expensive course. I have learned more here. If you want to go deeper in your craft it’s also a great way to see which teachers you like best before you take their more advanced courses.

Best up ever

I love this app, it has great content as well as the best educators.

Learn what you want, when you want!

Love this app, I have just repurchased my yearly subscription. As a new artist, it’s been great to have such a variety of great tutorials on a wide breadth of subjects and styles to explore. The teachers are knowledgeable and, it’s a great place learn and follow your interests as well as push you out of your comfort zone. Lots of learning, no pressure. What more could you want!

Waste of money

It starts exciting. You have hundreds of videos that look amazing. But then you realise there’s nothing on here that you couldn’t also get for free on YouTube. So don’t waste your money on this. Seriously.

And watch out if you do subscribe. Auto-renewal is on and they won’t let you cancel even if it’s on the day it automatically (and without a pre-warning) renews.

Complete Amateurs Faking Knowledge and Teaching it Badly

This app and the lessons are outdated useless and overpriced. Pathetic mockery of actual mastery of any true skills here. 🤮

Scam

I had cancelled my subscription and got charged anyway and couldn’t get a refund. Do not recommend.

Good value for money

With thousands (possibly more) courses on all possible skills all included in the subscription, Skillshare is great value for money. Whatever you are interested in learning, it probably will be there.

Wow

So many great resources. I signed up to learn to draw now I’m painting taking photos and can’t wait to start dress making !

Poor App

They make better apps with better teachers. Mainly people tryna push their views on you. And you’re paying to be indoctrinated. No thank you.

Can't access my classes

I signed up for a free trial. I wanted to continue and was offered a premium membership for $18.99 per month. I accepted this offer but… Every time I try to access the classes I was using under the free trial, I can't access my class anything and it only gives me the option of paying $49 per month (or $187 per year) what happened to my $18.99 premium membership and what is covered under that membership?

Taken money without permission

Do not use - I signed up for a trial period, cancelled well in advance and they took payment of £49.99 without permission

Customer Service Sucks

I completely forgot that my ANNUAL subscription was up for renewal. I was charged for the year. I pleaded my case two days after the renewal date to no avail. Now I paid for a product for a year that I will never use. Buyer beware.

Thieves

I’m gonna make this short these jerks did not send me a warning seven days before my trial was up AND tried to charge my PayPal account that had no money in it $150 4 1/2 days at 5:00 AM before my cancellation was due
the instructors haven’t been active for four years
and the same instructors are on YouTube for free
when I requested support and help not one damn answer not happy never again

Good luck cancelling

It’s really not that great of a product. At least not to justify paying for year after year. But you cannot cancel through rocket money, cancelling through them is confusing and if you thought you think you’ve cancelled and haven’t they WILL NOT refund you even if you contact them as soon as the charges are made. They’ll email you back and forward all day but not give you a penny.

Also they hiked the price from $99 to $167 and all I got was an email buried in spam just letting me know and a “oh well” email when I contested it.

If I the price was realistic and I could cancel without issues I would be into this product but I cannot support predatory companies that make money through “gotcha” tactics like this.

Nobody has time to read your long winded customer agreement. Just treat customers right and they’ll come back. It’s simple math.

Awful customer service

Really poor customer service - they automatically sign you up to an auto-renewing subscription and I forgot to turn it off (over a 12 month membership it’s easy to forget you didn’t click a button).

On the day of renewal - I immediately contacted customer service asking for a refund as I’d cancelled my subscription and was told it was not their policy to allow refunds under the circumstances.

I think that’s absolutely awful customer service - it may not be their policy but THEY have set their policy that way, clearly in an attempt to make money (steal) off members who have forgotten to turn off the auto renew subscription.

Annual Renewal Trap

I was charged $167 for an annual renewal and denied a refund despite contacting customer service immediately. Be sure to understand Skillshare’s annual auto-renewal and refund policies before subscribing. They will not refund you if you miss their single email notifying about the renewal. 🙃

Impossible to cancel

Lessons might be ok but seems like sketchy business when it’s impossible to cancel and still charging people on canceled cards.

Couldn’t sync to my iPad

I subscribed using my iPhone and when I tried to log in the same account from my iPad I couldn’t and kept saying you already subscribed but still shows join now. Also courses should display when It was created or updated especially in tech . You can’t have an AI prompt course without mentioning Claude for example seems like it was done few years ago

OVERPRICED, astoundingly so

Not worth it.
(Not just the app, the whole service.)

In my opinion, they’re an extremely shady business who use aggressive sales and marketing practices to ensure their bottom line is as fat as possible. The fact that they offer “certificates” would be hilarious to me if it wasn’t for the fact so many people will fall for it.

They’re blowing a bunch of hot air when they talk about “all the features and perks” they offer. I implore current and potential future users to always ask themselves the question, “am I actually getting anything out of this membership/subscription?” Because electronic badges, unaccredited certificates, and a bunch of basic mobile app features doesn’t amount to much if you’re not actually learning any SKILLS. (Or if the content being paywalled is just as easily available, and as reliable, as watching YT vids.)
