Online eftpos topup removal

I know it was “temporarily removed” but we have no idea why it was removed or how long it’ll be until it’s back. Until that happens I won’t be able to top up my plan which is incredibly annoying. As far as I’m aware there was no prior warning of its removal either

Data WIPED.

All of my mobile data was instantly removed. I had 18GB of rollover data, with over 200 days left before it expired. Today when I checked my phone whilst it was on charge, connected to wifi. I got a text saying I had no more data left, not even any of the 4GB I had just purchased 9 days ago…

Data and connection

The connection is not strong and always lagging. Even the wifi connection at home is lagging. Please fix it SKINNY

If you change plans you don’t get your data to carry over

Time and time again skinny will reset your paid for rolled over data

Worst app so unreliable

I’ve been with skinny for years and I’ve always had problems with the app and don’t even get me started with the website portal are we living back in the days of window 96 seriously make it more user friendly.

Stupid skinny, I recharged the 17-dolar package, but he didn't give me the package and didn't return the 17-dolar to me.

Plan payment confusion

The plan upgrade process is ambiguous. I paid three times with a credit card in error trying to increase my data allowance due to the misleading instructions.

App crashed

Good job, surfacing the review pop-up right after an app crash! Couldn’t load transaction and spending history. Also: you roaming packages suck. I’d love to make live easy for myself, but I will need to get an eSIM for my 2 week Australia trip. What a shame.

Lag

The app delayed my payment details and I used $12 of my mobile data thinking I was linked to a plan.

Renew and replace

App is good and easy to navigate. May be time to use a fresh young face instead of elderly person

Data binge and hotspot

Well, you can’t hotspot with a data binge active. That sucks in itself, why be so cheap about it? But fair whatever right. Got money to renew your plan to hotspot? Hope you don’t have an active data binge because you can’t cancel it. If you’re going to be tight, at least make a way to end a data binge early. You have ruined my plans and I have to learn the hard way. Plus I don’t get reception at half of the worksites I’m on. It’s 2026. What we doing here B.

Unable to send text messages for some reason?

Recently I have been unable to send SMS texts for some reason

Travellers beware

Poor customer experience. After topping up, my account credit was quickly drained because Skinny charged standard data rates prior to me activating a plan. If you do not have an active plan, e.g. you only travel to New Zealand infrequently, and your mobile data is on, background apps can immediately start using data and consume your credit based on the very expensive rates in the standard plan. Even though this may be allowed under their terms, it feels like a trap for customers who top up infrequently expecting to buy a plan when they land in NZ. I did contact support but they were reluctant to do anything other than point out that it is not their problem. Disappointing — I will be moving to another provider.
