I hated going to the bottle depot and I disliked throwing bottles into the recycling bin. This is so easy! I have been using them for years and donating the proceeds to a local charity

I wish I had this sooner!

I’ve used SkipTheDepot for several years now and I will never (by my choice anyway) go back. Life is too busy and returning cans was time I’d just rather spend elsewhere, you know? No offence to the fine folks at the depot, don’t get me wrong, but I’m happier now and I choose to believe they get it.

A good service that’s become whiny

We’ve been using this service for more than a few years now. It wasn’t perfect: pickups frequently rescheduled, app glitches (fixed now) that sometimes caused my pickup to be canceled. But I was patient, the bottles got picked up and delivered, donation made. It was good.
But now after every pickup, I get a bright red “suggestion list” of all the things I’m suddenly doing wrong. First they were too heavy, now they’re too far (behind the gate); I should write on masking tape instead of taping on my printed labels. I should change my phone alerts and ringer so I can be there to hand the bags to the driver. This is getting ridiculous and insulting.

Exceptional Service

We are thankful for many years of bottle pick-up from SkipTheDepot. They are consistently on time. Their drivers are extremely kind and respectful. It’s a great service; where customers have their bottles picked up, recycled, and the proceeds to a charity of their choice. They also pick up other items; clothes, electronics, etc. Amazing concept!!

Skip is Wonderful!!!

I needed money for a sick pet vet visit. So I called Skip the Depot! They were quick to help me out! Friendly guys pick up my bottles and empty juice boxes, then they e transfer me the $$. Couldn’t be easier!
Such a thoughtful service!

Good, but needs some work

I really like the app and the convenience it offers, but we put our business hours in (open at 11AM), and twice now they’ve scheduled the driver to come before 11. It seems there’s a disconnect from the notes and what the driver sees. I even spoke with the support team & he ensured me he’ll mark us down for that pickup time, but the driver still arrived at 9AM. I’d be happy to update my review once this is sorted !

Great service

We love this service. No more trips to the bottle depot and we donate to our preferred charity. Skip the depot saves us time and help us give back to the community.

I’m impressed!

The level of communication from SkipTheDepot is outstanding. If they can’t make the scheduled time, they text with an update.

I love that I can also leave clothing donations.

Their app is easy to navigate too.

I would recommend 100%

Waste of time

I scheduled a pick up four weeks ahead and they cancelled the pick up when time is close. A waste of time to save up all those bags.

Excellent

I like this app as much as I like this company. This may seem like a small thing, but the connection from the email to the app is extremely smooth. I love how I don’t have to login because it knows it’s me! Fantastic service.

So convenient

Automates a task that used to pile up and become overwhelming. I book a pickup, bottles disappear, money arrives in my account (or gets sent to my beneficiary of choice). Slick and easy.

Terrible

I’ve been scheduling pickups for the past 3 months and they keep getting pushed back. My last one was scheduled for this week. Morning of they confirmed they’d be here between 8-5. That’s great. We got up early, tagged the bags and put them out. We waited all day. I continued to check the app and it still said between 8-5. Cool. 3:30 came and I checked the app again and it said pickup scheduled for October 10th, a month later. We are moving out of our place October 1st. That is no good to me. I contacted customer support. They said they have no drivers here and that my pickup should have never been scheduled. Why allow me to request pickup in an area with no drivers? I’m beyond disappointed at this point. Scheduling for months on end and not even an email saying they have no drivers. Unbelievable. I will never try this service again. If I could rate zero stars I would. We waited around all day with almost 30 bags for not even an email notification till almost 5 hours after pickup time started.
