Hard to set up

The chime has to be by the router. This means the chime has to be in the same room. This is not convenient. I’m not happy either my purchase

I’ve finally managed to install. I’ve had to buy a really long Ethernet cable so I can have the chime in a room where I can hear it. Still can’t get it to record though. I’ll ask my daughter. I’m getting old lol

Please improve

I’m now on my second doorbell and chime unit! The 1st would not hold a connection with the chime. The 2nd unit works fine but has shown there are issues with the app itself. The bell is very laggy and most delivery drivers are long gone by the time a connection is made. This is now made worse by the app logging me out every few hours. To make matters worse staff have little to no knowledge of the product and their default is to just send out a replacement device. They have never asked for the old equipment to be returned which speaks volumes!!

Almost good

Battery lasts around 5 days despite everything turned off. Unable to set Activity Zone, sure to error message appearing every time trying to save. Looking for an alternative video doorbell, which is unfortunate.

App not working

I’ve had this now for almost 3 weeks and despite various phone calls to Sky and virtual chats they still can’t fix the issue, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app, started the process from the beginning, if this is not resolved by the end of the week it will be going back and will be asking for a refund !!!

don’t bother

have recently installed worse purchase fails to keep connected had sky engineer visit got it to work , hour later stopped working again

Logging in

Been unable to log in to the app , keeps telling me something went wrong and the doorbell won’t work without it so I’m going to have to cancel it

Worst Smart home ever

Have spent nearly 10 hours and multiple emails and phone calls to resolve the issue of not. Live recording or setting activity zones have used this product in the past for 2 years prior to them changing it all too a different plan it has gone down hill and no one can seem to sort it out I will be returning it and wanting a refund for the new products which I had to pay for even though I already had them as they said the old ones wouldn’t work it is a scam of a system and Sky should be ashamed of putting out a product that was fine and now completely useless.

Activity zone door bell

Installed and found that the activity zone setting cannot be set as problem with app which was to be fixed within 24 hrs . No update to app and still can’t select and set activity zone for door bell camera . Will consider returning as overall seems a very entry level and inconsistent bit of tech attached to an app which can’t fully support to give full functionality

Unreliable System

Been using the smart home for nearly two years. The equipment quality is poor and intermittent the premium of £20 a month is not worth it. In hindsight I wish I bought a ring doorbell. From family/ friends experiences the equipment quality and reliability is far superior. Would have awarded 1 star but the sky customer service is attentive.

Not sure you can watch live footage

CAnt add a device

All I get is the settings screen. There is no “+” icon anywhere. I can’t add any device. Completely useless

No longer able to view live video full screen landscape

The last version of this was able to display video in landscape full screen. Now you have to scan around in portrait with no option to display full screen. It’s rubbish!

Patchy

I have given this app and Sky’s equipment two months. At the moment I’m only using the doorbell and indoor camera. When they work they are good but, they frequently disconnect from the network and become completely unresponsive. They seem very sensitive to power cuts or router resets. I have yet to successfully complete an update without having to uninstall the kit and reconnect everything. The App is functional and works well on wifi and remotely over 4/5G. Unfortunately it does lose connection and can lock up during and after an update. The only solution I have found is to uninstall and then reinstall the app, then set up the equipment again. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to put up with this.

Things have stabilised now. I don’t know if updates improved things or I just got used to managing things better. Anyway I’m happy to upgrade to 4*

Video doorbell signal poor and needs charging every few days

Waste of money and resources

Absolutely disgraceful smart home tech features has been removed from within the app so now I don’t have access to my camera and sensors anymore absolutely disgraceful and appalling service provider this will leave some people valuable to breakins and cannot access their cameras to gain access to the video footage

Broke again

Previous version fixed a lot of bugs but this recent version has brought them back.
Doorbell very hit and miss again as to when it detects and alerts to person detection. The odd time it does alert but no recording.
Not worth the hassle as it’s now practically useless again.

Notifications need improving

Aside from the app taking too long to connect to the camera when somebody rings the bell, there are a number of equally annoying features with this app, the biggest one being the notifications.

Why can there not be a separate type of notification for somebody pressing the doorbell and somebody walking past the door? This app would be exponentially better if your phone actually rang when someone is there instead of a little beep. It’s not fit for purpose unless you have your phone in your line of sight

Poor tech and app

Considering the cost for this is more than £50 per month, it’s shocking. The app hardly ever works - I’ve had to call up 3x to get it working. The tech also disappointing. I’ve had the indoor cam changed and the app just constantly says firmware needs updating, but even when you click update, it doesn’t! Multiple conversations with tech support, then they update it, a few days later it’s down again!! For the cost of the subscription Sky really need to sort it out! It’s bad!! The doorbell battery is also shocking. Would not recommend and I’m cancelling to stick with my Ring cameras and pay home insurance at a much more reasonable price!
