Look, as a totally normal 16 year old high school student, SmartPass is an absolute, game-changing masterpiece that completely revolutionized my daily existence, so please ignore all the negative reviews from haters who clearly just want to wander the hallways unsupervised!
Annoying app
I was in 5th bell and I realized I had to use the bathroom. I asked the teacher if I could go and you know what I heard? “OF COURSE, BUT FIRST FILL OUT A SMART PASS.” These were dreadful words to hear while my bowels felt like they were gonna blow. I knew I had to open my computer, log in, click on the bookmark, say my teacher, and finally where I am going, OH WAIT DONT FORGET HOW MUCH TIME YOU NEED! Like who in the world is going to say “oh yea I would like to go to the bathroom for one minute, just give me a set amount of time like 10 min or something. Anyways after all of that I waddled over to the bathroom while I prayed that I wouldn’t explode, thank you smart pass. I give you 2 stars because at least the app looks fun.

Do not download this app unless you want a free service to remove brain cells. Limiting time to use the bathroom is valid, but 6 minutes is outrageous. I’d rather just go straight to the bathroom if I needed to go instead of damaging my bladder holding it in just to make a “smart pass”. I’m definitely becoming less smart with this app. The tile is false advertising.

This app had ruined my bladder.
Im not kidding when I say this. I genuinely could not go out to the bathroom with this smartpass app, and even if I was lucky enough to get a pass I would have to wait in line for ATLEAST 10 minutes. I had to LITERALLY dehydrate myself so I didn’t need to use up my remaining passes. And I got so much UTIS from this app. Please if you are a school administrator reading this, don’t even think about touching this app. Ruined my health.

If you enjoy the feeling of being electronically incarcerated while trying to use the restroom, then boy, do I have the app for you. SmartPass is the ultimate "solution" to a problem that never existed, replacing common sense with a glitchy digital leash.
Why It’s a Disaster:
• The "Wait-In-Line" Simulator: I’m standing in a hallway, staring at a door, waiting for a digital green light like I’m at a high-stakes drag race. Except the prize isn't a trophy—it's just a sink and some paper towels.
• Battery Vampire: Nothing says "convenience" like your phone dying in third period because a hall pass app decided to eat 40% of your battery while running in the background.
• The Infinite Loading Screen: There is a special kind of panic that sets in when you really have to go, but the app is stuck on a spinning wheel. I shouldn't need a 5G connection to justify my biological needs to a cloud server.
• Privacy? Never Heard of Her: It feels less like a school tool and more like an ankle monitor. I half expect a drone to follow me if I take a wrong turn toward the water fountain.
The Verdict: My Rating: 0.5/5 Stars (The 0.5 is for the color scheme, which is the only thing that doesn't give me a headache.)

Absolutely terrible and completely unecessary pass. To monitor students for their safety is necessary but this app does too much. It is not a simple sign in and sign out situation, it grants a limited number of passes a day and places a TIME LIMIT on time spent in the bathroom. This app is completely excessive and disregards the fact that sometimes people need more time in the bathroom. Schools need to stop implementing it and stick to classic sign in and sign out forms or tangible hall passes.

App doesn’t even fully work properly. Takes more time to make a pass than to go to the bathroom. Why are they trying to control my bladder, uterus, and bowel system. I cannot do my business in six minutes. Mostly it is my schools fault but giving schools like mine access to control there students more then they should be horrible.

I have to constantly delete and redownload the app to sign into my account it never works. Its very frustrating idk what bug this is but i hope they fix it.
Does nothing but make things complicated
All the favorable reviews are from teachers who’ve never actually used the pass themselves to go to the bathroom and probably never even listen when their students complain. As an ACTUAL student this app makes simple hall passes 10 times more difficult. Firstly, the app logs me out EVERY SINGLE TIME I OPEN IT! You do realize that I cannot spend an entire class period logging in to go to the bathroom? Even worse the app makes be enter my username not once, not twice, but thrice and it makes me need to enter my password too! It also takes an eternity to load and only gives you 5 minutes before it goes over time! Don’t forget that it doesn’t let you make another pass until it’s 45 minutes after you’ve made the previous one. DO YOU REALIZE WE SOMETIMES NEED TO LEAVE THE CLASSROOM MULTIPLE TIME IN ONE PERIOD? If your app is meant to accurately tell how much time a student has spent outside class then what is the point of adding that feature? It’s like making an app to track how many calories you eat in a day but not allowing the app to track calories until it’s been four hours since the last time you inserted calories. The creators of this app advertise this as a “grand solution to hall passes”, but honestly? This is a sprappy, horribly thought through, cash grab you make schools use that just adds so many extra annoying steps to simple processes. THE APP ALSO HASN’T UPDATED IN A WHILE TOO BECAUSE THE CREATORS THINK IT’S SO “PERFECT”!
