Customer Support?
There is no ability to change operating modes in the app and no way to contact customer support. I’m not sure why they have a customer support section. I’ve tried opening three customer support cases and they just get closed out after a few days without any communication or resolution.
Never works
App is offline more than on saying no data available from the battery then suddenly works for an hour or two before going offline again. Battery service is just as bad bought a system which was expandable and is still in warranty period but they no longer produce or support the model. I would not buy sonnen again

Worse than ever
App seems to get worse with each release. Annoying screen flashing on start up. Can no longer find record of grid outages.
Terrible Customer Supporting
Had battery for 4 years loads of battery and customer service issues, decided to rip out system and replace with Tesla Powerwall 3. Best decision. Time, money and energy really not worth the effort with sonnen.
No control
The app only allows you to change the backup buffer. No control for time if use charging, no ability to charge or discharge the battery. Now even appears to have lost its history “Achievements” where you could previously see when it provided power in a grid outage and energy self sufficiency. Battery seems to work well but app needs a lot of work.

Not working properly
App is not showing the home consumption. App does not work well after all.
Inconsistent app
2025 has seen app display improvements which are appreciated. However recent weeks show a serious viewing issue, at least for Sydney Australia. The daily view is no longer aligned to the 24 hours from midnight, making that view frustrating and useless. Why has this happened?

Very disappointed with the update
I used to be able to see production figures as well as amount of feedin etc on ole app, but this update is useless to work anything out. Very disappointed
The HUD of solar
This is the only app I use to monitor all the data in my rooftop solar with battery. The panels also have an app but it’s inaccurate because any usage shown includes the battery being charged.
The Sonnen app has all the data I need about energy generation, self sufficiency and a graph for each day showing energy generation, level of charge and usage. I use it everyday, it’s excellent!

Amazing
Love this app
Best Ever!
Love this app! Super easy to track my solar, battery, and energy savings. Makes me feel like I’m running my own mini power plant… minus the hard hat.
Was great. Not working
The app was awesome when I first got it. Now, It has since stopped working. 3 weeks now of no data.

Failed System No Support
Purchased a Sonnen system. It failed in the first year of operation. After 2 years if telling us we were waiting for parts they rejected our warranty and told us it was not a warranty issue and that the system was installed incorrectly. Two independent installers have rejected Sonnens claim that the system was installed incorrectly. Do not buy from this company. Worse than the worst solar pirates.

Control is an illusion
They say “With the sonnen app you are empowered to control your energy anytime anywhere…”. That’s completely untrue. In fact the only thing you can do is change is change the backup reserve percentage.
After paying $17 thousand dollars for this equipment I have no control over my energy supply. For example, can I set a determined amount of energy to the grid or stop it altogether? No!
Worse than that, try and get support from sonnen through the app or just ask a question? I sent two requests for the above information over 2 months before someone finally responded. Then after a single email, no further discussion or response! This app provides no control nor does sonnen give you any control over your own equipment. My next battery will not be a sonnen!

Fix your app
It’s running me in circles when trying to login. And never lets me in.
No Charge To Battery
When the app updated the battery stopped charging. Bug in the new app? Not good enough guys.
“Impact” page gone!
I miss the Impact page! It was fun tracking the streaks, and it was lowkey motivating to try and save power at the end of the day to keep a streak going.
Slow to refresh dashboard
The older app displayed consumption and production in almost real time. This one doesn’t update the system display promptly so is often initially misleading
Can’t log in anymore
Since the last update the log in does not allow keyboard username and password entry
