Everything works!

I like it the app itself, just needs better graphics.

Lots of features

I just got some new Sony headphones and I’m never looking back because the amount of features and settings that this app allows your headphones to have is incredible.

Terrible company

I regret buying their headphones, the mic was rubbish and we are talking about their flagship headphones at the time. Send them to support under warranty, they came back, no explanation still broken.

Now the PlayStation discs situation…Sony truly one of the worst companies.

Good but some things are annoying

I like how you can adjust the sound to taste, but I dislike that my headphones randomly go on transparency mode when I want to be on ANC. And yes, I have tapped the setting off to make sure it doesn’t happen, yet it still does. I’d rather manually turn it on. Additionally, sometimes, on the left ear cup the mechanics literally just stop working. There’s no response at all, it’s almost like the headphone is dead so I have to turn it off and on. Also, the headphones are still kind of bad at switching from device to device. Even if I switch one on pause on something im listening to listen to smth else on another, it literally just doesn’t switch. Mind you, I’ve only had these for a little over a year (Sony xm6) and and xm5s developed the same problem before they broke (like everyone else’s did). I still love the sound quality and ANC but for the price, I would think these small issues would be fixed and not become a problem only after a year of use. In fact, I had these issues for a few months ago as well so it’s even less than a year.

Great Speakers, Pathetic App

Sony is one of the best and most innovative audio manufacturers—or at least it used to be. Unfortunately, the Sony Sound Connect app is terrible.

I first used it last year with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and the ULT Field 7. After just one day, I returned the speaker. Now I've bought the ULT Field 3. The speaker itself is great, but sadly the app is still just as bad.

The app downloaded the latest firmware, but it won't transfer the update to the speaker because it claims the battery level is too low. The speaker is fully charged (100%) and is connected to the charger, yet the app still refuses to update it.

Sony makes excellent speakers, but the software seriously lets them down.

Headphones disconnect and change settings on their own

Headphones disconnect and change settings on their own. No matter how many updates I have, no matter how I adjust the settings, the headphones disconnect and turn off noise cancellation randomly on their own several times a day.

3 key flaws and one is a nuisance

This app is fine. It does what it is supposed to for the most part but there are a few issues and one is a near constant nuisance. Firstly, and least impactful, I don’t want this app to sell me anything because I already bought at least one product or I wouldn’t be there to begin with so it is annoying but not unusual that Sony would use my presence as an opportunity to shill their portfolio of related devices and services. Secondly, it is disappointing that the custom EQ setup is literally subjective instead of being remotely scientific. This is a good opportunity to perform an empirical hearing analysis but instead the user is basically asked what genre and vibe they are most interested in. Finally, and this is the biggest gripe I have, it’s great that you can connect to 2 devices at a time. It works well once connects BUT if you need to switch secondary devices (from a TV to a laptop for instance), you can’t just tap on another device in your list of paired options. Instead you will get an error telling you that you must first disconnect from the device you are presently connected to and THEN you can connect to a new one. Apps for headphones from other manufacturers (Sennheiser for instance) do this seamlessly; when you tap on a different device, you get disconnected from the current device and reconnected to the new one without any further discussion. I have to switch secondary devices on a regular basis throughout the day and this runaround makes it an unnecessary PITA. Do better.

Good and awful.

Being able to disable the touch controls on earbuds is simply delightful.

But why does it take soooooo long to use the earbuds and headphones with a different device?

I disconnect the buds from my phone, connect successfully to the tablets Bluetooth, but all I get on this app is ‘connecting…’

Any week soon!

Headphones and app

I love how well my headphones pair with my phone and through the app even though it’s an iPhone and are not known for being the most compatible device however these headphones and this app are just absolutely amazing!!!

Terrible app becomes more useless with every update

This app is awful, and devalues the headphones (which I otherwise love). The app is bad enough that I wouldn’t buy another pair of Sony headphones

Great

Best app

It nice

It good I guess

Every single time I say something for even a split second my music and everything is turned off

Every single time I say something for even a split second, my music and everything else is completely cut off. To make matters worse, there is absolutely no way to turn off or adjust this feature within the app to prevent it from happening. It’s incredibly ironic that a highly advanced, premium pair of headphones has a flaw this frustrating, an issue I would have never run into with a cheaper, less advanced pair.

The app is annoying

It keeps turning on speak to chat, no matter how many times I disable it.

Auto mode not good

The auto mode keeps fluctuating between ambient and noise cancellation. Despite deactivating, gets activated again and again.

Good Headphones

These are good headphones. I have active noise canceling. I use them to connect to both my personal phone and work computer.

Bad system

Can’t lock noise cancelation on off have to keep the app open

Not impressed…

It does nothing good for me…
