RESEARCH USE ONLY — NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE
mBrainTrain amplifiers are laboratory research instruments sold to research institutions. They are not medical devices, hold no medical device clearance in any jurisdiction, and none is claimed. This app is not intended for diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, or any clinical decision-making, and is not for use on patients. It produces no measurement result or interpretation and does not record, store, or export data.
Spectra Connect connects your iPhone or iPad to an mBrainTrain wireless EEG amplifier. It covers what you do before a recording starts: find the amplifier, check electrode contact, and look at the live signal.
REQUIRES AN mBrainTrain AMPLIFIER
The app controls physical hardware. Without an amplifier powered on and in Bluetooth range, there is nothing to connect to.
CONNECTING
Nearby amplifiers are listed by name, each shown with the colour of the physical unit so you can tell several apart. You can also hold an iPhone against the NFC tag on an amplifier to connect to that unit directly. NFC is iPhone only.
IMPEDANCE
Your montage is drawn on a head map with live contact impedance for each electrode, colour-coded against thresholds you set. against the reference alone, and select which electrodes carry through to the signal view.
SIGNAL
One lane per channel, scrolling. The filter can be toggled, pinch changes the amplitude scale, and TTL event markers appear I they mark.
LAYOUTS
Built-in layouts cover the standard montages along cEEGrid. You can import your own as an .sfp file from Files, Mail or AirDrop. Layouts that need more channels than available are hidden.
