The best app to split receipts!
Live with housemates? Maybe sharing groceries with your partner but not financially tied yet? This is the best app ever! It scans your receipt in a single photo and easily lets you assign items to whoever they belong to, or split the item evenly. It also lets you make different categories to sort your receipts into, so we make a grocery category for every month and whoever owes the difference at the end Zelles the other person. Highly recommend! Free version allows 3 receipt scans per day, which is plenty. You can always manually enter receipts too once your daily scans are up. Thanks Splitit!

Absolutely amazing. I’m so sad this does not have more recognition. Works well, splits according to what you bought, easy to manage. Get it. Just get it.

Used to be good but now wants your data
The app used to be simple and to the point but now it forces you enter a phone number, connect your Venmo, and enable notifications. Without it, the app doesn’t work

it reads korean receipts?!?
I tried this app out cuz I’ve been seeing it on Insta & I know of the creator. Crazy how it read my receipt, which was two receipts, one with tip & the other with the items from a korean restaurant and it accurately captured everything. It also connects to my venmo so all I have to do is send the receipt & request money on venmo. It takes like less than 3 min max and wow I wish I had this app earlier.

this app is the best split app ive found , UI is far better and it being ad free etc is a god send. spreading to friends. dont usually write reviews but it was frustrating me how bad the other ones are.

Absolutely love this app! I’ve used it everytime I need to split the bill and as the planner/payer of the group, I find this easy to use and am so glad I found out about this. Especially having the tax/tip option as well as different currency setting.

Top tier UX, suggestion: add total on final page
It’d be great to see the total of the receipt on the final page just to see that everyone split adds up to the total on one page rather than looking back at your receipt or having to pull up the charge in your bank up to verify again. It’s good feedback as a user that everything added up. Other than that great app man

This makes grabbing the bill a breeze
I usually pick up the tab and take the time to Venmo request everyone, but i often would just roughly guess what everyone owes me; often forgetting to include tax or tip. This app is a GAME CHANGER. I highly recommend it to everyone

Finally able to split bills with ease
Every week, I organize dinner with a large group of my friends. Oftentimes, as the organizer, I grab the bill and then figure out who owes what after. Creating a new spreadsheet every week and calculating splits was becoming tiresome. That and sharing the spreadsheet so my friends could double check my work was clunky and arduous. Ever since I started using SplitIt, my process has become as simple as snapping a photo of my receipt, assigning my friends to each line item, and then sharing the output of the app
SplitIt excels at:
1. Typing up your receipt for you, with built in error checking if the subtotal doesn’t match.
2. Allowing you to manually correct errors (OCR is hard).
3. Doing the math so you don’t have to.
4. Exporting the splits as a message easily shared in your group chat.
5. Integrating directly with Venmo.
6. Remembering who you often go out with.
7. And did I mention it has a really snazzy UI?
One small quality of life request would be to support customizing the message Venmo sends my friends, but regardless, this app gets a full 5 stars from me

Great but not perfect
SplitIt is super helpful with getting a quick snapshot of a receipt and being able to assign party members to line items. It gets a bit fussy when you get into the intricacies of splitting checks with dozens of line items in the case of big parties.
For instance, swiping between faces in the lower dial and then tapping to assign them to line items is a bit of an odd interaction. I’d prefer to first select line items and then tap party members to assign to that line item.
Splitting an item into multiple line items is a bit cumbersome as well because the newly created split-off item gets moved to the bottom of the list.
My wish list would also include some sort of notification or activity update whenever collaborators make an edit. Currently, you have to have that communication happen outside of the app. It’s also a bummer that sharing the splitit link forces people to download the app to view any information.

Really Smooth - Missing 1 Thing
Overall, this app is super smooth and exactly what I’ve been needing. I’ve always made my boyfriend do the Excel work to figure out what people owe. And then having to text them and hunt them down on top of it, annoying. So love this a lot. Only thing I want to see is being able to add multiple photos. There are many times where we group order something for delivery and the receipt is in two screenshots, or more. Right now you can only upload one photo, but would love to be able to upload more for the times where the receipt is longer. But great app!

So easy a 5th grader could use it
This app is exactly what I've been looking for - easy to use UI, hooks in directly with Venmo, and makes splitting up the check a breeze. This is my go to app for splitting bills from now on. Awesome work!
