Square will not release my money & I had a terrible experience with square for the past couple of years! I had not had a problem with Square before COVID & during COVID. But after COVID they had started holding my funds! Square has never release the funds! Square is absolutely terrible in my experience!

まず、アプリや管理画面の導線が全体的に分かりづらく、現在どの審査が完了していて、何が原因で利用開始できないのかが把握しにくいと感じました。

アカウント作成後は1円のテスト入金まで完了していたため、手続きは順調に進んでいるものと思っていました。しかし実際には決済は利用できず、その理由も画面上からは分かりませんでした。なお、この1円テスト入金についても振込先確認のための仕組みであることは理解していますが、会計処理上は不要な手間が発生するため、他社でも以前から改善が求められている点ではないかと思います。

数日後になって追加書類の提出依頼が届きましたが、そのメールには提出画面への直接リンクがなく、この点も不便でした。

提出項目には法人確認書類や店舗ホームページ、料金表など納得できる内容が並ぶ一方、「在留カード・特別永住者証明書・特定在留カード」の提出が必須項目として表示されていました。当初は外国籍の利用者向けの項目だと思い読み飛ばそうとしましたが、必須入力となっていたため先へ進めませんでした。

私は日本国籍であり、当然これらの書類は所持していません。サポートにもなかなか繋がらず、FAQにも同様のケースは見当たりませんでした。そのため、本人確認書類として本来は運転免許証やマイナンバーカード等も対象であるものが、表示上の不具合で在留カードのみ表示されているのではないかと判断し、運転免許証を提出しました。

しかし2営業日後(週末を挟んだため実際には4日後)に不受理となり、今度はパスポートの提出を求められました。

この時点で、私が申告内容と異なる外国籍者ではないかという前提で審査が進められていたのだと理解しました。非常に不快だったのはこの点です。本人確認を厳格に行うこと自体に異論はありません。しかし、利用者に十分な説明がないまま、そのような前提で追加書類を求められる運用には強い違和感を覚えました。

また、日本人にとってパスポートは全員が所持している身分証ではありませんし、日常的に携帯するものでもありません。もし審査上必要となる可能性があるのであれば、もっと早い段階でその旨を明示していただきたかったです。私は保管場所から取り寄せる必要があり、その分だけ手続きも長引きました。

さらに審査中にもかかわらず、「テスト決済をしてみましょう」「タッチ決済を設定しましょう」といった通知やメールが何度も届きました。そのたびに審査が完了したのかと思ってアプリを開くのですが、実際には「アカウント確認中」と表示され、案内された設定は何も進められませんでした。

こうした通知は無差別配信ではなく、利用状況に応じて送信されているものだと思われます。であれば、少なくとも利用者が実際に設定を進められる状態であることを確認した上で送信する仕組みに改善していただきたいです。

入会金や月額費用のないサービスであり、サポート体制に一定の制約があることは理解しています。その点を踏まえても、審査状況の可視化、必要書類の案内方法、そして利用可能状態と連動した通知設計については、利用者体験を大きく改善できる余地があると感じました。

Square has been very successful in my small business since 2013 when they launched portable card reader for vendors like me. It’s reliable and convenient for my customers and tourist! Thank you!!

Checkout

I love using square but… I don’t like the new updated checkout where it pops up the prices. Like… if I press the button (tap, insert or swipe) the top shows the cash price and the little itty bitty number below shows the card price, like that needs to be swapped. It needs to be clear not just for the workers but also the customers. Mistakes are made when people squint their eyes like it’s a hidden fee.

Also I think if the square terminal had an installed camera to scan would be convenient to scan price tags, input inventory and upload picture of the item to the inventory.

Not happy with this app

I have an account that I’m completely blocked out of. I changed my cell number and now it wants to send me a text to confirm my account. They give no other options such as email. They have no way of contacting the support team. It’s very frustrating. Please fix this issue. Please respond to this with a way for me to contact you.

Hassle Free Processing

No more headaches. After 20 years of dealing with shady processing companies, years later I still receive an occasional letter informing me that I could be part of a class action lawsuit against the shady processing companies. I finally switched to Square a few years ago and everything has been perfect.
Besides processing Square has also helped my business with great loan opportunities that normal banks would not offer to a small business in a million years. Thanks Square

Dont waste time

Everything about the app and the payment process is fine i use it alot for my business but the big, main and only concern with this app and why i would not recommend it is because they play with your money! Every transaction I’ve had since opening the account gets flagged by there system and then i cant access the money earned from my sale until 2-3 business days later which is diabolically insane especially they just expect u to sit and wait for your money like u dont have bills, like you didnt already provide a service to the customer and basically just flat out overzealous. So in other words just find a better payment app. Only thing i will say is i passed every security check just dont get your funds until days later.

Absolutely frustrating

The app is great overall, but there is one absolutely frustrating limitation that seriously affects the booking experience.

You cannot add multiple quantities of the same service to one booking. For example, if a bride wants to book makeup or hair services for 5–6 people in her bridal party, she has to create each booking separately from start to finish instead of simply adding multiple services of the same type.

The same issue happens when a parent books the same service for herself and her children. Having to repeat the entire booking process several times is time-consuming, inconvenient, and can easily make clients give up before completing their booking.

For a beauty business, especially bridal services, this feature is essential. Please consider adding the option to select quantities or multiple clients for the same service within one booking.

My square card wasn’t delivered

Square doesn’t provide the proof of delivery. So they will not deliver your card and there’s nothing you can do.

Won’t work

I was going to connect my reader to my iPad today for a event however after 5 seconds of entering app every time it kicks me out I have made sure app is latest version and I deleted and re installed and signed in and didn’t work don’t use this app

Doesn’t verify my identity

This app doesn’t want to verify my identity after entering my correct and legal credentials and proceeds to not let me access tap payments. and don’t even want to bother with customer support.
