Closing the loop on what was behind your original issue: it came from a problem Apple introduced in iOS 26.4 affecting iPhone 14 Pro and newer devices, and Apple's iOS 26.6 is now available and fixes it. We have tested it directly and confirmed the fix. Update your iPhone to iOS 26.6 or later and make sure you're on SR Measure® 9.2.2 or later and you should be in good shape from here. The measuring-halted message you were hitting came from an issue Apple introduced in iOS 26.4 on iPhone 14 Pro and newer devices, and Apple's iOS 26.6 is now available and fixes it. We have tested it directly and confirmed the fix. Update your iPhone to iOS 26.6 or later and make sure you're on SR Measure® 9.2.2 or later, and you should be back to measuring.
