Missing options and technical errors.

This app is just not finished or tested.

Cover letters get cut off and you can’t see the bottom of your messages. No option to edit after submission on mobile. Can’t read job posting to reference while writing cover letter. Just terrible design. No point in having the app if it isn’t optimized like the web version.

Super Barebones

This app is way too bare-bones. There is absolutely no way for you to manage your account and membership. Yet another one of these companies that makes you jump to the moon and back to cancel your membership. Not that many people post on here for work, you’re better off just looking on Linkedin.

Response from developer

Where’s the Hire tab?

Wondering why this app is only for finding work and not for posting jobs as well.

Response from developer

Hello Seanmics, Thank you for reaching out. The current version of the Staff Me Up app is focused on providing freelancers with access to job listings on the go. However, you can still post jobs using your phone by logging into the Staff Me Up website. We value your input as it helps us enhance our services, and we're always looking for ways to make our platform more comprehensive and user-friendly. Thanks again!

Cover Letter Gets Cut Off

I’ve had an account with SMU for almost two years now and I’ve only booked one gig, but it did end up paying for the subscription, so there’s that cost/benefit analysis. My issue is I just downloaded the app so that I can apply to gigs faster, but my pre-saved cover letters are getting cut off by the text box and there’s no way to scroll down. I would love to be able to read the entire cover letter over again before I submit for the job!!

Hello marie-g-10. Thank you for your continued support over the past two years, and we're glad to hear that you've seen a return on your subscription with SMU. We apologize for the inconvenience you've encountered with the pre-saved cover letters in our app. We understand how important it is to review your entire cover letter before submitting it for a job. We've identified the bug causing this issue and have addressed it in our upcoming app release. This update should resolve the problem and improve your experience with applying to gigs on the go. We appreciate your patience and are confident that this fix will enhance your ability to use Staff Me Up effectively. Warm regards, the Staff Me Up team.

You’re Better Off Using The Website

All you can do is apply for jobs and use the messenger. The ability to edit cover letters isn’t great because you can’t scroll down. You’ll get better functionality out of the website. Just create a app link on your home page to the website like a web app.

Response from developer

Hi Tyler! Thank you for your valuable feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience with editing the cover letter. Our mobile app is still in its early stages, and we're actively working on enhancing its features. Your suggestion is noted and appreciated. Stay tuned for future updates and improvements!- Nichelsea

Hidden Work Alerts

First of all, I’m confused as to why they made an entirely new app. I didn’t receive and email about it. I went for weeks with the old app not working and had to go to my computer for every job that came through which wasted valuable time.

Took a while to find the Work Alerts. Too many taps to find. It should be front and center. If you’re going to hide something from the front page, it should be the unfiltered feed of every single job everywhere. Nobody needs to see every single job on their front page.

I want to see the email come through about a job, and then open the app to see the same job staring me in the face. Don’t make me hunt for it.

Hi Nathan! We apologize for any confusion caused by our new app launch and we are sorry that you didn't receive our notification emails. We're glad you're now in the loop. Your feedback on the visibility of Work Alerts is valuable, and we're looking into making them more prominent within the app. Meanwhile, to ensure you don't miss out on job opportunities, please enable push notifications for real-time updates that take you straight to the job listings. Thank you for your input and your patience as we improve the app for a better user experience. Nichelsea

App good, system broken

This is a well put together app, but after a lot of paid subscription months I didn’t receive so much as an interview for jobs at or below my experience level. No feedback, the “promoted” feature doesn’t seem to do much. They’re just taking advantage of people hurting financially in a struggling industry.

Meanwhile, I apply to a job on LinkedIn that’s equal (or even slightly above) my level and get an interview immediately and a follow up.

A redesigned mess

Sure, the app looks great but it lost all the functionality from its old version. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy the text has been formatted to fit newer iPhones; however it loses so much functionality. Theres no alert interface(like in previous versions), the app doesn’t dismiss jobs already applied(present in the old version)& there’s STILL no way to access direct messages. Just feel like a step backwards, has me questioning who exactly this app was designed for, because I’m still opting out for the mobile browser version everytime. Disappointing

Hi there! Thank you for reviewing our first iteration of the new app, we appreciate your honest feedback. Please download the latest version of the app, as it addresses the issues you flagged. The jobs you've applied to are tagged as "Submitted" both in the "Find Jobs" feed and also in the "Jobs I've Applied To" section of the My Work tab. Direct messages can be accessed by tapping on the "Messages" icon in the bottom navigation bar. Thanks! Bron
