Seriously? Doesn’t need to be an app

Imagine a rubbish email client and a single text field form to report sickness. That’s it. Doesn’t need to be an app- web page would be fine. Yet more clutter on my phone.

Fine

Its a fine app for reporting to the school and messaging the office but the user experience of the app is terrible. Why can’t I bulk read or delete messages I don’t need? Simple UX that really needs fixing.

Awful

Needs to have a search button so we can find a message easily. Also should be able to delete messages we no longer need. Awful app

Useless

I was excited with the new update but you can’t do basic stuff in this modern age:
- bulk mark messages read or delete.
- no way to highlight important stuff.
- no way to search..

Come on!

Easy to use and helpful to know about absence guidance!

As above!

Needs improvement

This app is very very basic it’s laughable as well as frustrating. I’ve be been using it for a few years now and it seems as if little or no improvements have been made. The ability to search should be the bare minimum. At present you can not do this, and have to scroll through numerous correspondence to locate what you are looking for.

Could be better

Ok app but could be much more useful with some simple improvements. First the ability to flag messages in the inbox. We receive so many messages that the ability to flag some for later review would be helpful. Also many messages include fixed font messages that can’t be enlarged making them incredibly difficult to read on a phone. Some way of being able to zoom these or adding the ability to read inbox messages in the website would help.

Stops updating after a few months (UPDATED)

The app was great at first, easy to report absence and communicate with teachers but after around 3 months we just stopped getting updates from school and haven’t for the last 5 months
UPDATE: I contacted them via email and responded and fixed the issue in just over a day!

Please allow delete and search

This app is a great idea, but it’s so frustrating when relevant messages get buried by a volley of club cancellations etc that have no bearing on your child.

Blank screen

The idea is great but it constantly gives you a blank blue screen when you swipe up or down to look at further pages. Only a reboot of the phone brings it back. It doesn’t stop it happening again.

Notifications don’t work

It’s infuriating, I’ve got every single notification enabled in the app setting and in the settings through the apple menu and yet I never get notified of a new message. I have missed so many things. All the messages that get sent as an email automatically get sent to junk again no matter how I configure it so it’s just pointless?

I don’t like it

It’s boring dude

Not great

Just not well thought out. Simple things like when viewing a document you can’t exit it. Basic usability. Very poor. Only use it because the school demands it.

Very Bad and complicated

The app is designed for facebook users and asking fb login. Some one with out an FB , what they do?

Easy to communicate with school but very cluttered app

The theory of this app is great. It’s so simple to communicate with the school on the topic of absence / illness, or any other topic.
It’s just a shame that you can’t filter / search or delete *anything*. When you have kids at different schools both using this system, it’s impossible to find anything again because you have to sift through loads of messages.. This feedback had been provided repeatedly by both schools to the Studybugs team, but nothing is addressed.
What should be a great tool between school and parent is actually quite irritating.

Inflexible app

Very basic and inflexible app which drives me (as parent) crazy to be honest. There is no possibility to sort all the school communication in any logical way or highlight things etc. Old emails (older than two months I believe) are disappearing so if you want to know any details of something sent before - tough. The only good thing about it is possibility to report child missing the school day.

Crashes when adding a pupil.

Unable to use. Keeps crashing when trying to add a pupil.

Has stopped working

This is a useful way to receive email messages from school / report absence. But stopped working 6 months ago and in that time it won’t load ANY new messages, despite reinstalling. Developers - any support please? Thx

Poor accessibility

To the developers: Small light grey type on a pointless pale blue background will make messages hard to read for people with visual impairments. Make the text bigger, darker and on a white background or provide customisation options.

Good app but could go further with inbox functionality

The app does the basics well but could provide more functionality in the inbox on the app (deleting messages, marking as read or unread, the ability to copy/paste from message text for example) also to make the inbox available on the browser version.
