Extremely basic and not useful

This app is extremely basic and not useful. You can’t change anything except the temperature and you cannot see any detailed metrics at all. No loop temps, etc. you can’t even change humidity set point from the app.

Frustrating, annoying, yet easily fixable

I have had this app for over a year and use almost every day to monitor our three WaterFurnaces, two Series 7 and one Series 5. Because the software does not remember my user selections from one session to another or from one device to another within a session or even my username or password, I have to repeatedly make selections that any decent app would simply persist in the data base. Apparently whoever wrote this app never actually used it. The same goes for whoever hired the app developer. LAME. Simple stuff like selecting the cost per kilowatt defaults to zero every time you open the app or simply select a different device!?! That’s just dumb. Every time you select a new graphical display of energy usage for a device, the app reports that there is a data error but, surprise surprise, there never is. Those graphs show data per device, again without persisting time frame or frequency, but do not consolidate data across multiple devices that you might have. This would be a trivially simple coding task…it’s a freaking data base app.

Colors

The colors in this app are hard to see it would be nice if they had a dark mode also would like to see more metrics for the units, including loop temperature intake temperature supply temperature

Glitchy and in consistent performance

I am using this app on a 7 series system with 3 zones. When opening the app, the screen displays one of the zones. When selecting the temperature control, the temperature reading will increase by 1 degree before changing the setting. Once the setting is changed, you must stay on the screen for about 30 seconds to ensure the new setting is stored. If you select a different zone before this time to view, then return back to original zone, it resets to previous temperature. Sometimes the setting does not stay set and will switch while viewing the display.
Another nuisance, the app does not indicate what zones are open or calling for heat/cool.
It doesn’t appear alot of effort has gone into this app. The previous system we had installed Neat thermostats. That app worked very well. WF could take some notes on how that works to improve this one.

FAQ

What does the Symphony app do?

Symphony is a WiFi-enabled platform that allows you to remotely control and monitor your WaterFurnace geothermal heating and cooling system. It provides detailed system feedback in real-time, enabling you to manage temperatures, track energy usage, and receive important alerts.

What are the key features of Symphony?

Key features include remote control of your geothermal system from any device, multi-zone temperature adjustment (with IntelliZone2), energy usage tracking for the past 13 months, and equipment alerts and service reminders. The platform is cloud-based, eliminating the need for software installation.

Is Symphony a free app?

Based on the provided information, the Symphony app itself is free to download and use. However, certain advanced features like remote monitoring and diagnosis by dealers, as well as equipment alerts and service reminders, require a Premium package.

What devices is Symphony compatible with?

Symphony can be accessed and controlled from practically anywhere using a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. This allows for convenient management of your geothermal system's operation and status.

How is Symphony different from other smart thermostat apps?

Unlike many smart thermostat systems that only control the thermostat, Symphony provides control over your entire geothermal system. It offers detailed system feedback, energy usage tracking, and advanced features for geothermal units, not just basic temperature regulation.
