Don’t “collect tickets” too early
I purchased the tickets via website + via the app. Mostly handy. But, make sure you also turn on your primary mobile to receive the SMS code to confirm your credit card (coz I couldn’t see SMs at first due to eSIM)
Do not buy a round trip ticket for $1400
Instead, buy 1 way $700 tickets, so you can refund and change return trip times if needed (which occurred to us due to bad weather cutting our Taichung trip short).

User Unfriendly
This review is meant as a feedback to the developer of the app which is the most user-unfriendly app I have used. I am used to use an iPad to run the apps due to its larger screen and fonts. When I download the ticket I bought on my iPad, I was surprised to find that the ticket is bound to the device (iPad) so even when I am signed into my account on my iPhone, I can’t see the ticket. That means I have to lug my iPad and use it to enter the gate at the station. Also I was told that I can’t get the station ticket counter to issue me a paper ticket based on my reservation number. What if my iPad stops working on the day of the trip? And I can’t save a screenshot of the ticket and share it with my iPhone either. This whole design is ridiculous and no other travel or airline apps are as difficult to use as this one.

Keep saying internet connectivity issues while accessing the app from abroad. How can foreigners purchase a ticket to make travel plans while you keep blocking IP addresses…
Very bad UX
They simply ignore the basic UX principles. Very difficult to find your tickets

Way harder than it should be
I bought tickets for my family. I distributed one ticket to my wife but my kids don’t have phones so I could not distribute their ticket and it doesn’t show a QR code for them. So I have to go to the train station to print them out. Please see how movie theaters sell tickets - it is way easier.
Unreliable, payment and connection issues rampant
The 10% of time it works, the experience is seamless. The other 90% of the time it’s nonstop headache as you constantly hit errors when looking for the next trains, pay, etc.

Some improvements, but can do better
Date selection calendar view the font is still very small and doesn’t have shading for weekends, very very easy to choose the wrong date. I’ve bought wrong dates tickets several times and had to refund and cost me $40 each time.
Can you just make the date selection calendar more readable?
After selecting the date in the payment screen the date font is also super tiny like 4pt font, even a non elderly person like me can make mistakes , needless to say for more visually challenged people.
These are just basic UI/UX design they need more work on.
