useless app
pretty useless app. what’s the point of this app if you cannot buy your ticket with non Taiwan credit card? you are literally forced to reserve your ticket and pay on site the same day otherwise you will lose your reservation. honestly can’t really think of why this app even exists
Consistent NETWORK ERROR
This persistent issue is a tremendous nuisance. It does not function at all no matter how often I try to get the app to work. Network error issue comes up even though I have anywhere between 2-4 bars in 5G. Restarting the app brings me to circle back on my choices BUT the app continues to give me the network issue. This is arguably the worse app I ever encountered for iOS.

Behind the times
In 2026, a ticketing app that won’t allow the purchaser to download all the QR codes for their family is absurd. I’m the main earner in my family. I am the person who establishes travel and transportation. The fact I have to purchase ticket and then distribute it instead of just having more than one QR code for each traveler I purchased for is ridiculous. Your inability to adapt and make things more in line with common sense is insane.

Difficult workflow but fails constantly when NOT on wifi
The app constantly issues modals about network connectivity lost for me and my Taiwanese native friends, and I mean to the point that you can not complete the workflow.
However when I tried to use it on WiFi in a hotel I did not get any network lost errors and I was able to complete the workflow.
HOWEVER no other app complains of low speed or lack of connection in the same environment and mobile network.
Need to re evaluate the hyper sensitivity to network connection when on mobile networks. Very consistent behavior.
As for the work flow. IF YOU CAN GET THROUGH it and get your QR code. If you get the errors be prepared to go to the Machine at the station have your pin and order number or you will probably miss your train!

Completely unusable with IS phone
App throws invalid network errors if connecting with a phone from the USA

It only stopped at the opening page then crash.
Don’t “collect tickets” too early
I purchased the tickets via website + via the app. Mostly handy. But, make sure you also turn on your primary mobile to receive the SMS code to confirm your credit card (coz I couldn’t see SMs at first due to eSIM)
Do not buy a round trip ticket for $1400
Instead, buy 1 way $700 tickets, so you can refund and change return trip times if needed (which occurred to us due to bad weather cutting our Taichung trip short).
We could refund our Taichung to Taipei ticket easily via app

User Unfriendly
This review is meant as a feedback to the developer of the app which is the most user-unfriendly app I have used. I am used to use an iPad to run the apps due to its larger screen and fonts. When I download the ticket I bought on my iPad, I was surprised to find that the ticket is bound to the device (iPad) so even when I am signed into my account on my iPhone, I can’t see the ticket. That means I have to lug my iPad and use it to enter the gate at the station. Also I was told that I can’t get the station ticket counter to issue me a paper ticket based on my reservation number. What if my iPad stops working on the day of the trip? And I can’t save a screenshot of the ticket and share it with my iPhone either. This whole design is ridiculous and no other travel or airline apps are as difficult to use as this one.

Way harder than it should be
I bought tickets for my family. I distributed one ticket to my wife but my kids don’t have phones so I could not distribute their ticket and it doesn’t show a QR code for them. So I have to go to the train station to print them out. Please see how movie theaters sell tickets - it is way easier.
Unreliable, payment and connection issues rampant
The 10% of time it works, the experience is seamless. The other 90% of the time it’s nonstop headache as you constantly hit errors when looking for the next trains, pay, etc.
