Doesn’t stay logged in

I have been using the app since my son started with his childminder and I have not once been able to leave the app and then go back into it without having to change my password every time! It’s actually driving me wild. I have deleted the app, reinstalled, I have deleted all temporary files and folders from my phone. I have covered all bases and still having the same issues - HELP!

We're sorry that you're experiencing a login problem. Please check you have version 1.0.5 as this has a fix for the login issue. Once you are logged in with email and password, you should just have to login with the PIN or biometrics. Please contact customer.service@eyfs.info if you continue to have issues.

Basic functionality broken

App signs out constantly, and combined with Face ID not working after the initial setup leads to a very frustrating experience. These are fundamental issues which have existed since the redesign, however there are a lot of other issues and the app feels very clunky and slow.

Typical poor rewrite

At first glance looks much more modern, but just makes everything harder, slower and less polished. For a start it never remains logged in. Media is harder to view, often the wrong size etc. Even quite short text is truncated and has to be expanded.

Needs someone to do some actual UX design not just add a load of features and pretty layout.

Constantly logs you out

Terrible UI, constantly logs you out (three times in one day), notifications appear over and over again.

What should be a simple platform to share updates from the nursery to parents is instead a cause of frustration.

Fix the issues and the review can be changed.

Made everything slow or not work at all

Logging in by PIN or FaceID barely works, zooming in on pictures is clunky at best, uploads are slow, the description takes up much more screen space so scrolling is required... It's very unintuitive compared to the old version, and full of bugs. Currently not ready for public release - should still be in internal testing. Can only imagine how horrid it is for the teachers!

Good but Lost functions

Since the app and platform update I can no longer open pdf files; I have to download them to my phone first. Also it has stopped allowing me to sign in with my PIN or face.

Great but last update is not going well

It’s a great app and safe, however since the last update it keeps asking to input user and password every time it’s annoying it should be made easily accessible by Face ID or fingerprint access.

New tapestry

The old version was much better really simple to use no time consuming
New version photos take ages to upload, to record the observation in the notes box is limited just in the box you can’t see what you typing as it doesn’t allow to open and see what you are typing. Can you make it simple and easy to use please as we are spending inaf time recording observations.

Removed useful tools

Adding assessments is harder as there is no search function, meaning looking through multiple sections and branches just to tick off one thing. The search function made this so much easier and just tapestry on a desk top, the pop up box when adding the assessment does scroll down so missing things on some of the longer lists

Frustrating

Could you please address the ‘notes’ input box. Having to scroll up and down through the letterbox view is annoying and then when your keyboard pops up in front of it obscuring what your typing is making it impossible to use! Can we have it the same as the old one please?

Looks more modern but loss of functionality.

The number one reason for me to use the app is to save photos of my child but it now takes much longer because of the “download media” feature which takes more button presses and also much harder to see which ones I want because I have to select from thumbnails rather than full screen preview. Please add save functionality as a single screen press from preview.

Not really user friendly

There are aspects of the redesign that have improved but there are some that were better in the old app. You have to download every document in order to view it. It would make so much more sense to have a view option as you did in the old app. Uploaded photos you can’t use in landscape in your phone and you cannot zoom so really not user friendly. Videos don’t load well. They either have a black screen with sound or it takes a long time to load. Overall, the experience is not as user friendly as it should be.

Videos are sound only & switching between accounts requires many clicks/taps

Unfortunately with this new improved UI, the videos play only with sound and a black screen. Also, can you reduce the number of clicks/taps changing between schools - I can’t be the only parent where I have two children at two different schools using Tapestry.

Looks better, works worse

The design is good but videos don’t load properly. Either black screen / no sound or no video and sound. Takes a while to load / scroll through pictures. Would be helpful if there was a quick look option on the documents attached in memos as don’t always want to have to save a document. Hopefully an update will sort it soon.

Some issues vs old app

The new version seems to require you to download any attachment to your phone rather than just being able to view in app. All links appear to be blocked “for security reasons” whilst still being available for viewing through the old app. It appears there are still some bugs to sort out here…

Sack the designers

It is clear that this has been designed with neither an educator nor a parent in mind.
Neither of the above have the time to wait for this ludicrous app to do anything. Loading videos takes an age. Finding anything takes just as long and don’t get me started on the fact that you can’t zoom in to be able to see the tiny picture of your child.
We want simple and easy. I have no care for your fancy fonts and colour matching. Just give us back the app that actually worked!

Full Of Bugs, Should Not Be Publicly Available Yet

The old app worked seamlessly.
This new one has multiple issues which effectively render it useless.
- You can’t zoom in on photos
- Videos play but are nearly always a black screen with only sound. Occasionally the thumbnail image is frozen instead of a black screen
- When scrolling through images, it often gets “stuck” between two images so you see the right half of one and the left half of the next. Sometimes it continues, sometimes you have to close out the app and reopen it.

I’m genuinely curious as to whether this app has had any sort of testing before being made public? It makes it even worse that the old app is being retired when it works as intended, and swapped out for this.

Sort the bugs out before you retire the old app. Please.

Excellent redesign

Great app to complement the newly redesigned interface. I know that change can feel awkward but the simplicity of the new system is so much better. This company takes data protection and child safety seriously which is reassuring in an age when children and parents are vulnerable to exploitation by tech companies. Well done Tapestry and keep going! 👍

Easy to navigate, but difficult to see - small font

Having just switched over to this new version of the app from the old version, I find it easy to navigate and I’ve found most of the functions I used regularly on the old app.
The main difficulty I have with it is the size of the font when writing an observation, which is much smaller than on the rest of the app!
I wear reading glasses but generally don’t have to use my glasses for using my phone, but I can’t manage without them on this particular app.
Is this something which the creators of the app can perhaps tweak?

Regressive UX

Like most misguided and unnecessary ‘app redesigns’ (looking at you met office) this new app is a step backwards. Open the old app and there are 5 journal entries on the screen. It’s easy to scroll and see information. This new app has one bloated entry on the screen before scrolling. The truncated text is completely pointless as it’s not possible to read without clicking into the entry. Even clicking into a post, the text is STILL truncated and requires clicking ‘view more’.

Companies are being ripped off these days by so called ‘professional designers’ who push style of substance, bloated visuals over clear well displayed information.
