Useless
Worked fine for a few months then the probe will not connect to the booster box. Emailed tempspike but no response. Now in the bin. Absolute waste of money

Do not buy their products
Used temp spike maybe 4 or 5 times and the probe no longer connects to my phone. Such a finicky product for 80 bucks. Save your money and get a decent one.
Does not work well.
Constantly disconnecting from probe while no less than 6 inches away. Tried on multiple occasions, different meats, times, and temps. Does not work. Get something else.
Notifications are terrible otherwise good product
Why on earth does it sound like a nuclear bomb was authorized to launch from my phone just because the device connects from Bluetooth

Even the app is a lie. Sometimes the base will show the correct temp, but the app says it’s connected but shows the same temp without updating.

Accurate/App needs work
I have been using this thermometer for many years and got a few as gifts too. Works great. App needs a low temp setting for resting meats. That second alarm would be very helpful!

Worst product I’ve ever purchased
Genuinely confusing as to how this product has any positive reviews. The physical product itself appears to have been over designed to the point of removing any necessary relevant buttons to have only 1.
The thermometers have only ever connected for a brief period of time before immediately either dying or not syncing.

Excellent product works better than you would expect
Works as advertised. I’ve used it inside a pressure cooker. You can’t beat that.
Nice but usability problems
I naively assumed that I would be able to monitor the temperature of my smoked meats remotely. No, my phone must be near the smoker because the app connects directly to the TempSpike Plus device by Bluetooth. It doesn’t do what my other devices do which is connect to my WiFi and post updates to the server so I can use it on the go. Lame.
The other usability problem is that the Fahrenheit temperature tries to show one significant digit instead of rounding which means sometimes the number is too wide to appear so it is truncated with an ellipsis and I can’t even read the number on the overview page. On the TempSpike Plus device which has a digital readout it rounds the numbers and doesn’t have this problem. Note I am using two probes at the same time so of course I want to monitor both at once on the overview page in the app. But I have to click to go into the detail screen of each one. Lame.

Spike battery issue
I bought two single spike probes, and gifted one to a friend.
His spike and booster works perfectly.
My spike battery dies way before the meat reaches the target temperature.
The booster works fine, but the spike is usually dead before the cooking is finished.
Are these spikes guaranteed?

50/50
Did my first big cook this weekend. The white probe was perfect, and lasted the entire nine hour cook. The black probe quit at five hours and claimed to need recharging. Currently doing a dry run to see if it was just a glitch.
