Approved installers only!
I decided to upgrade my existing ids as it was old and the plastic had turned yellow. Bought all Texecom products on the recommendation of the wholesaler. No installation instructions in the box just QR code. Advised by the wholesaler to download this app instead but only find I couldn’t access any documentation as I was not an approved installer.

Pointless
I’ve been waiting months for them to activate my account. As Texecom don’t bother activating the account, the features in the app are unavailable.
I’ll probably end up installing a different alarm system and bin this one, because their service doesn’t exist.

Dreadful UI
Well it works but there is a blatant disregard for quality user interface which makes for a clunky experience. Seems like an afterthought and rushed solution.
Haphazard use of all sorts of interface controls and colours thrown together. Accordions used for lists, pickers used for selecting manuals, menus on right!! It’s just messy and doesn’t match ANY OTHER app that exists on Apple iOS and that just slows you down.
Go and look at the human interface guidelines Texecom and refine the implementation on this app and “connect” which is actually worse.

More great stuff from Texecom
Great concept, truly modern way to provide the necessary information to engineers. No more searching the bin for that manual the apprentice threw away!! No more searching online or calling tech support when didn’t really have to. All there, all up to date, all the time. Favourites for products used regularly and also like a book mark for that important page reference. The various search options including QR scanner is a good feature. I like the direct access to the Texecom Installer Forum also, with a better interface for a mobile device than through a web browser. I’m sure further features will develop in time, but for an initial release this is a top notch tool that does what you want it to do.
