About
Persistent pain does not always mean structural damage. Sometimes pain can continue because the nervous system has learned to produce it, a mechanism described in modern pain science, with recognisable patterns in how pain behaves from day to day.
Thala looks for those patterns in your own data.
WHAT IT ANALYSES
You log for about a minute a day. For each pain you're tracking, you record how bad it got, how mild it got, roughly when it peaked, and what it felt like. You also record how you slept, how you felt using a simple feeling wheel, and anything stressful that happened.
Thala reads that history back and shows you which recognised indicators actually appear in your data:
• Pain that moves between locations or spreads
• Wide variation from one day to the next
• Pain-free and low-pain stretches
• Links between your emotional state and pain level
• Times of day that are consistently worse or better
• How your pain peaks and lowest points change over time
Every finding shows the days it is based on, so you can check the evidence yourself. And an absent finding is a result too — if these patterns aren't in your data, Thala says so rather than reaching.
This is analysis of your diary. It is not a diagnosis, and it cannot tell you what is causing your pain — only what your own record does and does not show.
GENERAL ANALYSIS
Alongside that, you get charts over any timeframe, a scrollable history, per-pain breakdowns, and trends in your peaks, lowest points and flare-ups. Track several pains at once and compare them. Stop tracking one without losing its history.
BUILT TO BE READ BACK
Appointments are short and memory is unreliable. Thala turns months of daily entries into something you can actually show someone: your charts, history, and findings with the evidence behind them.
YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS
• No adverts, no data sold, and nothing shared with insurers or employers
• Your entries are never sent to our analytics or crash-reporting tools
• Delete your account from inside the app and everything goes with it, permanently

A NOTE ON WHAT THIS IS
Thala is a diary and general wellness tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat anything, and nothing in it is medical advice. A pattern is not a cause — it may be a coincidence, and it may be wrong. Always talk to a qualified clinician about your symptoms, and never delay or disregard professional advice because of something you read here.
If you are having a medical emergency, or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line now.
