Best app for dancers!

Don’t spend your hard earned money here

Difficult to navigate, poor user experience. Some videos have no notes (and there’s no explanation in the video). The supplemental PDF literally only lists the exercise. You might as well use ChatGPT to generate a year’s worth of dance-focused workouts for a fraction of the price. I’ve been subscribed for almost a year and seeing the same moves and videos over again, no new content. Hugely disappointing.

Thoughtful

This app is easy to navigate and rich in content. It builds stamina, strength, and flexibility in a safe and supporting community of dancers. Highly recommend trying it.

More than just workouts

TBB has helped my dancing and cross training so much. The app offers way more than just exercises. In addition to workouts, it also has solid nutrition, recovery, and mindset resources. The walkthrough clearly explains how everything works, and Lili has included video demos (with optional voiceover) if an exercise feels unfamiliar. Each workout also includes a handy PDF so I can get moving quickly once I feel confident in my form. One unexpected bonus of TBB is the community aspect.
I feel connected with other dancers who are lifting and it’s nice to have them as inspo when I need a little push or motivation. Lili is passionate about helping other dancers and is super supportive and responsive to our unique needs, which is evident when you use the app. If you are on the fence, I 100% suggest you go for it!

GAME-CHANGER 🙌

The TBB app is a total GAME-CHANGER!! As a busy dancer/dance teacher I like to have a resource that I can trust and just follow along! This app has everything from workouts to nutrition and such a supportive community!! I like the length of the workout splits too- it gives me time to get used to the movements and push myself each week. I see massive improvement when i take class too- I am able to get through feeling so strong and my body working FOR/WITH me not against me. Something that’s massively improved for me is petit allegro - something I have never been too great at growing up. It’s empowering to nail these combinations knowing that my training in the gym contributes to my success. If you’re a dancer- I highly recommend using the TBB app for the longevity of your career!

So helpful!!

Love this app!! I’ve struggled so much with consistency with my workouts, and since downloading this app, I’ve worked out almost every week for the past 8 weeks. There’s just something about the design of the monthly challenge and biweekly check ins that has really motivated me to stay with it. Also, the community aspect is a great way to hear how other people are doing and share your wins and struggles. I also found the recovery and mindset videos super informative, and I’m so excited to try the recipes! My only critique is that the lighting in the first round of videos was a little dark, but we’ve been told that that’s going to be fixed for the next round. Can’t wait to see what the next challenge is 👀

Amazing programming, great price

As a pro dancer in NYC (with both freelance and company work) the Barbell Ballerina Programming is everything I need to keep my body happy and healthy for all the demands of dance work. The way Lili has set everything up makes workouts easy to follow.

I do track my progress externally from the app (just out of habit), so I am unsure about others’ experience with the tracking side of the app, but I can say that all of the programming and support from Lili is well worth any potential bugs from the interface. I have never had any issues finding past videos and if I have questions (app related or otherwise) Lili is available to answer them.

It’s also priced so well! I do recommend.

Not easy to navigate

This app, although I want to love it, clearly does not update (last videos posted were for august). There is no way to start a “program” or check off if you’ve completed a set or workout. I can’t easily search for things - example I would search for “back in season” one of her programs advertised and nothing pops up. It’s a lot more work trying to learn the app itself. I just wanted to get to the workout. Bummed…
