changed app to rob customers
rewards system used to genuinely be great. then it was changed to give less free drinks and rewards. then it was entirely revamped to cost more to get free rewards. greed.

Bad app redesign
Love the coffee!! Hate the app. Was better when the app was simple. The recent updates are way too busy and annoying to interact with. Things I wish had changed didn’t, like having a saved order that works for all locations instead of having to save the same order at each location (very annoying).

NEW APP UPDATE 2026
This is my first negative app review. The fact that I have to come on here and write this review should say a lot. I know the developers were trying something new with the black and white layout features but it’s way too intense. Also has the point system changed ???
Worthless App
Tries to get this app and made the mistake of trying to register through my Apple account. Problem is my Apple account uses an email that I can’t access. And your app send the registration email to it and I can’t access it. No problem, I’ll just register with my current email but wait, it keeps wanting to send me a registration email to the email account I can’t access no matter what I do. What a hassle. I’ll just keep using my Star Bucks and their app and not bother with trying out CBTL.

App doesn't load and your app support is trash. Just giving me directions to regain access to my account. That's not the problem. The app doesn't load. I can't even get to the login screen.

The app doesn’t work
This is the most frustrating app I’ve ever used. I signed up through Apple, and it said they sent me an email, but there’s nothing in my inbox. Then I tried signing up again with a different email address. I received the verification email, but the link doesn’t work, so I can’t verify my email.
Company/App offers email and in-app discounts you can’t use
This week alone, I’ve gotten 2 emails telling me I can get 50% off any beverage. It was a lie. I click links confirming I want to use/apply it and nothing happens. The discount is never active. Another in-app discount to buy one and get one free pumpkin based drinks was given to me that I absolutely have to use in the app and hilariously the app doesn’t provide any pumpkin based drinks to choose so I can use the discount lmcho. The app also never lets me tip the bariatas for the last 3 years. Still hasn’t been fixed over all that time. Whoever handles the tech functionality on this app has mutated brain cells. The nicest way I can put it.

I got an advertisement saying that you would get a free drink if you downloaded the application and it doesn’t show up as a coupon.

they literally make it hell to pay just so you add your money to a gift card and then when I try to add my money to a gift card, it doesn’t work

Never lets me login, when attempting it just stays frozen on the same logo screen. In store they mentioned there would finally be an update and it’s still the same issue. Has never let me login it freezes on the main page every single time it’s so annoying.

New update sucks
I have been a Coffee Bean customer for over 10 years in this new update isn’t easy on the eyes. The point system also changed, while I had a free drink waiting once the points changed I no longer do. I wish I had a warning. I would’ve gotten my free drink weeks ago. Everything is very jumbled on the main screen you can’t tell which rewards you’re eligible for because everything is the same color. Not very happy. But then again I can go somewhere else and get coffee just the same.

The new design is overstimulating and therefore hard to keep focus and look for what you are looking for
App efficiency
Love that there was an update made to the app recently however I notice that CBTL still hasn’t made the app more functional and efficient when it comes to ordering. If you change locations or change drink size you have to restart your order. This lack of efficiency and duplication of efforts makes me less likely to order and instead end up going to it’s competitors like Starbucks whose app is much more user friendly and easier to place orders.

New Rewards, Less Value
They just expanded their rewards options and now it takes 300 pts to receive a free Baked Goods. It used to take 200 pts. That’s only what I typically redeem my pts for so I’m not sure what else is less valuable now, but I’m sure the higher rewards certainly are… You should know, before downloading this app!
