Clean layout

The layout for this is clean, and the developer was responsive and helpful. If I had the budget for this app I would definitely spend more time setting it up to see just how good it can be. If you can afford the subscription I would definitely recommend trying this.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review and feedback, the app is free to use and you don’t need a subscription to use it. Feel free to enjoy full planning and todo lists with over 4000 images available to represent your plans and tasks as well as mood tracking too.

Thoughtfully done

Super simple to use. Definitely try it out if you’re living with ADHD

love the idea but so many bugs

i have the premium so i'd appreciate if someone could reach out to me to help me with the bugs i'm experiencing ): it won't let me complete tasks from yesterday i didn't complete on that day and it also won't let me reschedule them for today or tomorrow

Response from developer

Hey, we wanted to let you know that Version 3 is out now and includes a complete new interface that provides flexible daily planning and includes fixes for the issues you faced. If you reach out to support we will sort a free trial out for you to explore again on us.

For people reading reviews:

I’ve just spent 2 hours downloading as many of these apps as I can find & trying out what features are free.

I’m gonna need you all to stop complaining cos I kinda wanted to as well but having spent the time looking I can confirm this app is giving the most out of all of them (for free)

99% of the other apps don’t allow you to repeat events/tasks without paying, for me that makes them unusable. Others were buggy with no support (per reviews) and one of them was a scam (didn’t fall for it luckily)

At least here the app functions as it should for free, and yesss I wanted more colour/graphic options for free as that is what is valuable to the neuro community, but at the end of the day it’s a business that needs to make money so it can provide the app.

There was only 1 app I found that comes above this one for me, and you have to pay for repeating events😭 my advice to Thruday is to have a lifetime pay option, because ultimately the other app has won me over by having that option at £10 cheaper than your annual price, but you’ve got an amazing app and as you can tell I take research too far so I would know🤣

So close

Immediately asks for a subscription upon opening. Features like setting a routine for every other week are paywalled.
They also do that dark pattern where they let you do paywalled things but don't tell you until you click save.

If this app was $50 I'd buy it. But I'm sick and tired of throwing money into the ether. I'm not doing another subscription I am FED UP

Hello Ott62101, I am the developer of the app I wanted to respond to your review directly. You are free to dismiss the initial paywall shown when you first sign in with the x button at the top left of the page and continue to use the free version with core planning, todos, journal and mood tracking which are totally free. Regarding your allegations of 'dark patterns' - I would want to be clear that we do not allow you to 'complete actions' to then 'paywall you when you press save' - this is fundamentally untrue. I programmed the app in full without any third parties, this is not a pattern that is in place. Buttons are locked with 'requires subscription' text on premium features outside of planning or they are marked clearly with lock icons preventing you from using them at all. This is the opposite of what you claim. If you want to reach out and have a chat, feel free to reach me via the website support page.

Fantastically Helpful!

This app is going to change the way that I live my daily life!! I only downloaded 24 hours ago and already it has been SO helpful to me! The tech support from Andy is brilliant too. It’s an app that is being developed and modified, so there may be a few glitches, but Andy is working so hard to resolve these issues. From someone who has just been diagnosed with ADHD and Autism at the age of 50, and has struggled all her life… thank you!

Best all in one planner

Great app for planning your day with a built in timer, journal and so much more for free! If you are AuDHD then this is the one to use

Not a good start, we’ll see

I just downloaded the app so I’ll update the review once I’ve used it longer but it’s definitely not starting off well for me.
Firstly, as other reviews have said, their website (and the app description) is extremely misleading, it really highlights the fact that the app is free, without ever mentioning that some features are paid, which overall heavily implies that everything mentioned on the website is free. And the defensive replies from the developers on the reviews really don’t help (of course there are costs, no one blames you for it, just be transparent, because as it is your website *is* misleading).
Secondly, when I went to plan my day for tomorrow, it constantly changed the day to today (despite me selecting tomorrow or clicking a “free time block” from tomorrow).
So far, between the misleading information/lack of transparency and the bug it has been a pretty frustrating experience, but I’ll give it a go to see if it really is as helpful for AuDHD/Dyslexic people as it claims to be.
Please update your website and app description to make it clear that there is a free and a paid version, and what each version includes, so that people can find out this information before downloading the app and creating an account.

So brilliant

Absolutely thrilled with this app. I set up each day on my phone with activities and a plan for the day and my autistic son uses the app on his iPad to see what’s happening. We love that we can use the focus button to see one activity at a time (thanks for the update!). This app has really helped us with transitions and moving from one activity to another. I have tried many of these sorts of apps and this is by far my favourite. Thank you!

No financial backend for plan management

It’s like Hotel California. You can sign up but never get out. There is no plan management and the don’t tell you how to cancel subscription. Be warned! They are taking you for a ride. Helpdesk is great and quick to reply but does not find a solution. All is good luck finding, it’s your job. But when it comes to collecting money they know exactly how and where… It’s not helpful at all!

Subscriptions are managed via the AppStore as they don't provide functionality for us to cancel them for you. We are sorry for this.

Week 1 - already an INTEGRAL NECESSITY to my life in the best ways

This has made an impressive and hugely positive impact in my everyday already. After a few years of being a business owner with too many roles to play (whilst being a bit slack at consistency, time allocation, prioritising… probably other things). I think this could finally be the tool / weapon needed to defeat the panic and procrastinations !

The support responses I received for technical, as well as my user fault issues, (even requests for preferences) has been not only prompt, highly professional but friendly and informative.
Looking forward to working and resting better from now on.
Very pleased and now optimistic property professional

Nice design

It seems pretty user-friendly overall.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, we would love to understand what we can do to improve the app further for that extra star on the review. Feel free to reach out and let us know, maybe we can get it implemented for you.

Wonderful support

The app developer Andy was amazing and patient helping me troubleshoot an issue with syncing my calendars, Im really looking forward to use the app, I love the idea of a visual calendar for my neurodivergent brain and separation for my to dos from my appts and schedule.

This has helped me so much

I got my support worker on to help me snd I feel less overwhelmed, it’s really good app I love

Misleading

Advertises as free but needs paid for add-ons to actually be useful.

Better than any other neurodivergent productivity app out there

This app as been such a lifesaver for me. It is easily approachable and does a great job of filtering content so I don’t get overwhelmed. It’s just customizable enough to meet my needs without being too much, and has just the right amount of features. I can keep all of my scheduling and tracking in one app without feeling totally underwater every time I open it. Also, the development team is so helpful. Any time I have an issue they are quick to respond and clearly have a genuine interest in helping people. If you run into a problem, just reach out! They are always improving. Highly recommend this app to anyone. Thank you Thruday!

Misleading: Not “Free”, Disappointing + Belligerent, Hostile Customer Service

It was great to find this app only to find there is not anything free about it and when user contacted CS, the responses were shocking.

The user will be prompted to provide a method of payment for either a monthly charge or to pay for a year at $49.99 via subscription. This was very disappointing for someone who has ADHD and is on the spectrum, as Thruday is advertised as “free” when it is clearly not.

The user contacted the “Developer”(?), which was another level of weird: A response was received from a person who wouldn’t identify themselves but appeared to take the complaint rather personally and actually lashed out in their email stating, (word-for-word):

“The app is free and has always been free - no one is forcing you to pay for premium. There is no paywalls. I think you are not looking properly.”

(and):

“I don't really appreciate your tone and telling me something that is not true while not looking at the app properly.”

When the user responded by sending screenshots of the subscription-based application process, this was the response:

“No, you are wrong...

It is a free with optional subscriptions....

Please stop emailing me with this stuff, I have thousands of neurodiverse people to help while taking zero wage and on state benefits while dealing with a brutal neurological conditions.

You mentioned it yourself; "No thanks, close this window"

So... close it and use the free app.

No one is forcing you to pay.”

This individual also chose to disclose their personal health issues and talk about how they are on state benefits which is completely inappropriate. There were no attempts to assist the user. Instead, the user received 2 belligerent emails in reply.

I don’t know if anyone moderates individuals who are authorized to sell their smart phone applications via these platforms but the aggressive and hostile treatment from the Thruday team should be addressed as it was very offensive.

Neurodivergent folks, please be aware that this app offers a “free 7-day trial”. When the 7 days are up, you will be required to pay a monthly instalment or for the full year, subscribed at $49.99. You will have to set up your payment details before the trial starts and if you don’t cancel it before the 7 days are done, you will be charged.

Hopefully this will save some people from have to contact the individual behind this app as it won’t be a pleasant experience.

Jennifer, our team received an initial hostile and entitled email with false accusations with an abusive tone at our staff while claiming our app is not free when it is - its all over our website. When presented with the facts you proceeded to call our staff crazy and psycho. We do not tolerate abuse of any kind and it was at that point we become very very short with you and refused to deal with you. We provide a solid suite of free tools that are NOT locked behind a subscription and as we told you in the emails; We are not forcing you to pay, you can use the free version -- You entered into a subscription with the terms clearly displayed. Our app would not be approved on the app store by Apple if optional subscriptions were not clearly listed as optional to our users. It is a simple fact that unless we fully meet Apples terms and conditions, you would not even have the app installed.

Game Changer!

This is the best app I’ve found to help my daughter complete daily tasks without me verbally reminding her which makes her annoyed with me. Also, the developer has been very helpful when I’ve had questions……words can’t convey my thanks!!!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your kind feedback! If you have any ideas how we can improve the experience for the little one, feel free to reach out to us and let us know your thoughts.

Great App

Very underrated. Has been so helpful and far more useful than any other app I’ve used!

Such potential, but misses the key point for ADHD

This app should be a perfect fit for someone with executive function issues— it allows a person to create individual schedules with tasks broken down into steps, it gives the opportunity to create multiple reminders, and it has functionality that allows you to invite another person to support or manage your schedule. Unfortunately where it fails is pretty much on the most important point of reminders and checklists— the reminders pop up silently on your phone, with no audible sound or even a vibration. So unless you’re looking at your phone 24/7, you may as well have no checklist at all. Equally bad— it checks off the reminders automatically after the scheduled time has passed, not only removing the dopamine incentive that comes with checking something off your list, but also leaving people with short term memory issues unclear on whether they actually did or did not do a particular task. That said, this app has enormous potential, and I believe with some minor tweaks it could be the perfect partner for someone with ADHD. Selfishly, I hope the tweaks come sooner rather than later, because as another reviewer said, forgetting the cancel the trial just cost me (and my son, separately) $49 each for a year of something that is currently functionally useless to us both.
