I just saw a show where the entire principal cast was out. It was a mix of scheduled absences and last minute understudies. I was under the impression that TodayTix has notifications when purchasing tickets if there are any scheduled absences, that’s been my experience thus far at least. However, their customer support notified me that is not always the case which is really unfortunate. As a gold level member I had come to trust this app and it’s usually pretty amazing customer service. I don’t know what changed but there was no notification of the scheduled absence, their customer service agent was rude and unwilling to help. I won’t be putting my trust in TodayTix again after this.

The best theatre ticket deals
Todaytix is often my first port of call when looking for on the day tickets or entering a lottery. Their tier system also enables cheaper pricing for general sale tickets. I’ve been using it for years as an avid theatregoer and would highly recommend!

Brokeback Mountain
I saw Brokeback Mountain at Chicago Shakespeare Theater in Chicago, IL today and it wrecked me in the best way. Ashley Robinson’s adaptation is lean and honest — no fluff, just two men and an impossible love story that spans decades. The live country songs were an unexpected touch that hit harder than I anticipated. Jack Cameron Kay and Harrison Ball are incredible together, and I’m still thinking about it hours later.
