Really helpful! Flexible settings!

I’m tried this app out primarily to track my symptoms with POTS. Likely been sick with it my whole life but I am new to information about it. I needed a way to visualize my heart and blood pressure information for myself and a future doctor. Actually stopped me from being bedridden after two weeks with some really heavy lifting on my part teaching myself about the illness. This app was absolutely instrumental in getting that data to me visually and then into Apple Health for further use and adjustments.

I primarily wanted access to the 15 minute heart rate checks. But it’s so much more flexible in options for time intervals. This plus the app being free and the bracelet being reasonably priced was a big decision making factor.

I only have a few wishes as someone who is sick:

- The app does sometimes delete valid heart rate records because my personal resting or standing rate can go up to 100+ bpm due to sickness with tachycardia. It reads this as a glitch or outlier data in the app and deletes some spikes :( which sucks. I had to solve this by salvaging untampered data through Apple Health, as I really need to know about those heart rate spikes and how long they happen. The good news if you are sick like me: This watch does save that data in Apple Health even if you can’t see it in Tom Fit.

- Blood pressure seems fairly stable but the app should come with a warning about wrist measurement reliability. Users must understand how to read wrist measurement deviations or bp info can be dangerous in wrist devices. It would also be nice for the user to be able to delete a bad measurement when not in the proper positioning or simply making a position mistake. (You CAN delete in Apple Health though =] It is ok.)

- Sleep works fairly well but gets confused sometimes. Instead of auto, I wish the app asked how long you slept, when you went to bed, and when you woke up each morning. It also needs nap input options. It doesn’t recognize naps well. If you work a night shift for your job too, you cannot customize your bedtime and waking defaults. You must sleep at a specific time.

- Workout options are plentiful and thankfully not the only focus of the app! I was excited to find bellydance as someone who is sick and limited. Some disabled and sick people are not able to exercise like others. There are some limitations to turn this feature off or change it. I just set it to low activity. It’s fine. I also like that it auto recorded walks!

- The weakest feature is probably menstrual tracking. It is not customizable for irregular cycles due to illness. I turned this off because it is only a calendar in the current version.

- I also wish Tom Fit could import sleep and some other just basic data from Apple Health.

This is a really awesome product and free app. It doesn’t put your health data behind a paywall. Instantly, you can show your doctor. You have options with some downsides of the app. I hope Tom Fit will continue to provide its users with a quality device, easy to read data, and flexible options for both healthy and sick people who both would like to enjoy the benefits of this device.
