App barely functions properly. Check-in in is a glitchy mess. Jan 2026. Super frustrating to use.
App is great in theory
Excellent idea and sometimes it even works but I've noticed the last three times that the listed wait time is a lot different from the reality.
Example: let's say the app says it's a 43 min wait, I plan accordingly, trying to be there five minutes early. Then, 20 minutes later, they call saying they're ready for me, and I haven't even left the house yet.
So I get there as quick as I can and they say 'okay five minutes'. 25 minutes waiting later, I get my haircut. It's clear that they're punishing me for being late but I was just using the app's projected timeline.
So if the time is incorrect then maybe don't list it? It's not like I'm even trying to follow it exactly, I understand it won't be totally accurate but if it's not even close then what's the point?

Does not work for families
For a single guy, the app works great. But if you want to check in more than just you, it’s nothing but pain. Tap on another member to choose their cut and they still get removed from your profile.
Great place for a great cut
I have been coming here since it opened. I have never had a bad haircut. The one down fall is my barber always seemed to move on. Then I started paying attention and it was poor management. But since that being fixed it has become the best place to get your haircut. I refer friends and family. I will continue to go to Tommy guns until I pass. Mandy is the best barber I have had cut my hair. But I have notice every barber is very good at their job. The front counter staff is friendly and very professional when assisting the customer. Keep up the awesome job Tommy guns!!!!!!!!!

Privacy violations
The app refuses to work unless I allow precise location services even when not using the app, which is garbage. There’s no way this is needed to be on all the time. Close the app completely and you will see it still pinging your locations periodically. There’s no reason to do this unless they are selling your data. Take your business elsewhere.

I gave the location permissions and I still can’t use the app, won’t even let me sign up.
Alright - They need a point system
My only knock is a lack of point system. Saving 5$ off a shave every once in a while is not even an offer that I consider valuable. Or being offered a hot towel service when it’s free anyways is just a lack of customer appreciation. A point system would be nice
App check ins
The app doesn’t tell me if I’ve check in or not. I never know how much time there is until I have to go the shop. So I always end up calling. Defeats the purpose of an app.
Extremely poor service
Showed up to Tommy guns on 130th at 4:26pm. Checked in on line with 0-5 min wait. Walked in store and told that they close at 5 pm so they will not cut my hair. I said there is stylist not working on anyone and you close in over 30 min wait they said no and sent me away. Extremely disappointed in the service at this location. Not the first time I have had either a customer service issue or a finished product at this location. Never had this issue with location I used in Langley BC before moving to Calgary. Will for sure never use this location again and possible never use Tommy Guns again.

APP needs an overhaul!
When the app first launched, it worked flawlessly. Over time, it got worse and worse and now I can never get it to work properly. I can see the wait time, but the minute I try to check in, it crashes.

This rating is about the APP only, not the service TG provides.
The app doesn’t list all the services offered. It also doesn’t track your booking…. Once you book, it freezes on “calculating wait time”

“Exceptional Service, But Room for Improvement”
I have been a loyal customer at this barbershop for the past two years due to their exceptional craftsmanship and high-quality service. Typically, they wash my hair after completing the haircut on the sides. However, I believe it would be more effective to do so after cutting the top as well, ensuring a more thorough and refreshing cleanse.
