TrackTik Guard Tour User Reviews

Needs ALOT of work.

I use this app for work. EVERYDAY. Constant crashes. Pictures not appearing. Being put behind do to small things that could be fixed. The app itself seems half cared about and barely updated. And if it is updated regularly it TRUELY doesn’t feel like it. Same issues. Same crashes. Same calls from my boss that pictures are not showing. PLEASE FIX THIS APP

Flaws

This app is full of glitches from android to iPhone. Unable to sign out of a sign into new site. If guards are required to have it and write reports on their own devices, they should be able to tell difference.

Basically Useless

This app makes my job harder than it would be with nothing. Almost quit my job because we used it. Throws generic errors several times before reports submit. GPS tracking just doesn’t work.

MANIPULATION DETECTED

APP MIGHT BE GIVING ACCESS TO PHONE BEYOND USERS AGREEMENT.
APP NEEDS TO INCREASE SECURITY MEASURES AS TO NOT ACT AS A BACKDOOR TO THE PHONE

Too many errors

The whole app is full of error messages which discard the whole report after completing a task. Then you will need to redo the task from the beginning. “An SLS Error occurred” is my favourite. Very rarely I can complete a task without having to restart or do it multiple times.

NFC button/tag

My company recently switched from android to iPhone. We used this app so efficiently and effortlessly on the android phone. There was no need to click the “SCAN NFC“ button on every check point like what the iPhone makes you do. We have so many checkpoints, going around having to click a button for every checkpoint is so convenient and slows you down. Its not a great thing to spend so much time struggling to scan points in the Texas heat. I wish the developer could take every line of code that was used on the android version and use it on the iPhone to make this version “smarter“. It also gives so many errors now and then when trying to scan the NFC tags. Once i click “tour” one would expect that we are scanning NFC TAGS without having to click any button for every tag. Imagine doing that on an average of 50 NFC TAGS on each tour. Please fix it.

Not terrible needs some quality UI improvements

•I think when you gos search a checkpoint it should only show the checkpoints you are within range of or at least add a search bar because I spend more time finding my checkpoint in the list of over 100 than I do documenting my findings
•Issues with camera on iPhones unless you turn off auto rotate
•battery drainer make sure you bring a charger for whatever you are using this app for

App sends reports to the wrong location

Track Til Guard Tour has consistently sent my reports to the wrong location, it has cost me and others their ability to work at certain locations due to this egregious issue. It shows that inam cocked in in the right location but sends my reports to another. I am NOT happy

Response from developer

We would like to have a look at your feedback. As there are a few reasons why a report is sent to the wrong location, please get in touch with support@tracktik.com with your specific example and we can work with you to resolve this as quickly as possible

Same app to accounts

I really like this app It’s very easy common sense but my thing is with the two jobs that I have they both use the same app now every time I log out I’m supposed to login for the other account but unfortunately, the way I have to do it. I have to delete the app reinstall the appand login to my account there was a way to go all the way back from the beginning to put in my second jobs information and to clock in instead of having to delete the app, reinstall the app and log back in for the second job

App Crash When Cropping Pictures in Report Section

I'm reaching out to report an issue I’m encountering while using TrackTik on my iPhone 15 Pro, running the latest version of the app & iOS.

Whenever I attempt to crop pictures within the report section, TrackTik consistently crashes and returns to the home screen.

Please investigate this matter further to ensure the stability of the app.

No way to see clock in and clock out times on past jobs

I use Track tic on behalf of the company I work for. Everything on the app is intuitive and works fine but I want to be able to see my past history. There is a calendar there and I can see past jobs that I was scheduled for but what I’d like to see is my clock in and clock out times per those jobs as well. Currently that is not possible. I hope a further update will allow me to see my past clock in and clock out times of past jobs I completed included as part of the calendar feature

Bad software makes bad business. Button placement causes typos.

Incompetent app, design with incompetent Ergonomics Month, and asinine decisions on how the app should work, and where the buttons should be placed are resulting in trouble for the company. Bad software causes bad business. By ignoring common sense Ergonomics, which would make the app functional for human beings and useful to businesses, TrackTik is proving that it is substandard software. If we have a 6 inch screen on a phone, then the edit button, and the send button should be at least 1 inch apart to prevent accidentally sending typos. If the screen of the phone is at least 5 inches high, in there should be at least 2 inches for a text box every single time, and you should not have text boxes that are one character high, because it is hard to draft a statement in a tiny text box like that.

My bosses don’t want me to take a photograph, sign my signature, and fill in the tedious details for all ten checkpoints, for eight patrols a night. They would have to look through every single one, and it’s a lot of extra work for them. They prefer for me to have “incomplete” patrol tours with the yellow checkmark. It is best to fill out a green, check mark with a photograph and a blurb and a signature, and a timestamp only when there is something worthy of note.

Instead of just letting guards complete the patrol, TrackTik forces you to write an explanation of why you didn’t take a picture, sign your signature, and make a blurb for every single door, for 10 doors, for 8 patrols a night. So I have to “explain why the patrol is ‘incomplete.’” This is the weakness of the mandate system, when everything is by mandate and force, the incompetence of the dictator becomes apparent. When you play dumb games, you get dumb prizes. Tracktik seems to want to mandate or force or coerce security guards into explaining themselves unnecessarily, and this causes tracktik to become very poor ergonomics, resulting in bad business.

The problem with this is that the button for send, the miniscule text box, and the button for cancel, are very close together, and instead of a nice square text box, we have a very thin and narrow slit of a text line. It’s almost as if you are trying to punish security guards by giving them a minuscule tax box, in a minuscule pop-up window, with all the buttons to close together. It would be very inappropriate for tracktik to be doing that since traffic is only supposed to be providing software to help businesses flourish.

My thick sausage fingers are not able to precisely and delicately tap the minuscule text box and so if there’s a typo, it’s highly likely to accidentally be sent because the send button is right next to the tiny text box slit, and right next to the cancel button. The text box is only one line high. This tiny text box is right next to and right on top of the send button so as you are tapping the text box to try and write or fix typos, you’re highly likely to accidentally hit the send button which is very sensitive, more sensitive than average for a phone. The fact that your send button is so sensitive indicates that it is looking for a finger tap in too large of an area. Why You can’t just give us a nice gigantic text box to comfortably write? I would describe the text box you offer security guards as microscopic. This is because you might as well be trying to use a microscope to look into that thin one line space you gave us to write our coerced explanation. The explanation for why we don’t fill out every single patrol checkpoint in detail is because the boss doesn’t want us to do that, it would be frivolous and excessive.

As a result, quite often, if there is a typo, while I am trying to tap the microscopic text box to try and edit and fix the typo, the typo will accidentally get sent. Th This is the responsibility of Tracktik, because you made a text box that is not practical or ergonomic.

It’s one line high and so if I have to make a paragraph of explanation, it’s all being compressed into one long line, and it requires a lot of scrolling left and right by tapping and pressing my large thumb to go left or right, to hunt down where the typo was. Because there’s no actual text “box.” It’s just a single line thick. So when you’re putting your thumb right next to the send button in this tiny text box, it’s a recipe for disaster. This is entirely because you are forcing the format to be like this. You made a tiny little reaction window to pop up when we finish a patrol. You put the text box right next to the send button and you made the text box minuscule, very small. You do not give us a questionnaire like “are you sure you want to send” to give us an opportunity to prevent the typo from being sent. So you are failing to do anything useful, which would help prevent the problems inherent in your current layout. Everything you are doing is forcing security guards into a bad situation, which is highly likely to result in bad business for their companies. Furthermore, the supervisors of the security guards are not able to edit the blurbs you’re forcing security guards to make, when they follow the orders of their boss to not fulfill every single green check mark. whenever there are yellow circles on the tour checkpoints, you force the security guard to make a blurb explaining why. And then you make the interface to fill out that blurb very non-ergonomically and accident prone, and then you don’t let the managers of the guards edit the blurb in case there was a typo so that the contract customer which is being guarded doesn’t have to read a weird typo. You’re not allowing the managers to have oversight. You’re creating a situation where security guards are highly likely to make a typo and accidentally hit send because all the buttons are less than 1 inch apart from each other, and at the same time, the managers are not able to edit what is written, even if it has a typo, and so the contract company will read that and it will look bad. You are causing bad business.

One issue review: annoying notification:

I’m just trying to get attention to one particular issue. That is, when I scan and NFC tag the notification from the phone tag has been successfully scanned stays on my screen anywhere from 10 to 20 seconds or longer. Unless I manually swipe it away or dismiss it, it stays there and it’s annoying because I know that the NFC has indeed been scanned. it’s unnecessary and it’s inconvenient to have to keep swiping it out of the way. The fact that I have entered the checkpoint details page with time, date, signature, narrative, etc. … is proof enough that I have successfully scanned the NFC. I don’t need that notification; it’s really really really annoying so that’s why I’m giving a one star review.

App degrades pictures

When you take pictures in the app do reports it degrades the picture. So if you ever need to go to court the images are not useful because you can barely make out words or numbers. Sometimes you can make out stuff. They need to fix the issue with the pictures being degraded.

Needs some work !!

—when clocking out, the app shows a list of options “clock out and sign out”, “clock out and stay signed in” etc. there’s no reason to have this menu and it’s infuriating to have to deal with it every day.
—also, my shift ends at 6, yet When I open the app at 6 o’clock, it tells me I have a break in 30 minutes.
—The app keeps tracking my location in the background, even though it says it only tracks my location around the time I clock in and out, Very invasive.

TrackTik and iPhones don’t mix!

For the past 6 years this app has caused nothing but problems on iPhones. Things get better, but then either TrackTik has an update or the iOS updates and issues start all over again. There is maybe a total of 4 months out of the year without major issues causing us headaches. If you have to use this app you are better off getting an android phone.

Alarm feature activated by the slightest movement

Every time I’m on shift I accidentally set off the alarm feature, which then goes to my dispatch. If you have the app open, and you shake your phone even just one flick the alarm goes off. It’s way too sensitive and the alarm shake feature is a very bad idea. You’d be better off having a shake feature. Turn on your flashlight. The app itself is clunky with way too much going on in more slim, Simplified version would be better.
