Great Programming
It is not great for a beginner, and you will need access to a lot of equipment (rower, air bike, ski erg, barbell and plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, plyo box). If you have experience and want progress without having to come up with your own workouts, this app is fantastic.
It has a relatively small but effective selection of programs, and Cass continues to add blocks to the existing programs as well as expanding the selection of available programs. I’ve completed at least one block of the Strength, Strength and Conditioning, HIIT and Hyrox programs. I’m 43 and have been exercising since I was 14 and I’ve never had as many people ask me what I do to workout as I have since starting this.
The app is not perfect but is close, and it has improved significantly since it started. I had some criticisms that I communicated through the app’s contact function and Cass not only responded to my messages but addressed most of my concerns in later updates. Cass cares about the app’s success and is a great trainer.
It is helpful to write down the entire workout before you start if you’re visual and want to prep for the next set. Before hitting start you can see an overview of the entire workout, but after that point you will only have a preview of the next exercise.

Amazing update
Absolutely in love with the TWC programs. Makes me so excited to train everyday. New update is awesome too!
AMAZING APP
Obsessed with this new update! The app looks great and works beautifully. Cass's programs are exactly what I needed, challenging but achievable. So glad I found Train with Cass!
Could be better.
App could be better. No log of history of programs completed. No meal plan included.
Love!
I love Cass’s workouts! Early version bugs have been fixed and I love the app ☺️
The almost there app!
This app has so much promise - the workouts are great, however the app is not. There are several key issues - workouts crashing, unable to change programs in my settings, workouts freezing to name a few and now the timer sounds will not work. I contacted customer support and their response - check that your phone is not on silent - and enjoy your training. Actually unbelievable. Of course I have done this and a host of other things to try and solve the issue. Do yourself a favour - do not waste your money. Wait and see if this app improves. I am now off to cancel my membership- for good and go back to the Sweat App - which is much better value and they deliver what they say they are going to.

Keep it up
I’m glad that this app has improved so much because I really love Cass’s programming!
Okay, getting better :)
The weight history/log function doesn’t work. Aside from that it is getting better 👍🏽
Shouldn’t be live
App full of glitches. I was stuck doing TWO exercises during an AMRAP and couldn’t click past it. Movement videos were frozen. I contacted support and got no response. The latest problem was that I finished my 9 week program and it wouldn’t let me restart my program again. It’s just taken my money for the month and I can’t use it. So angry right now. This should be pulled down until it’s working properly and you shouldn’t be taking peoples money.

Progression
The app has had some glitches to work out. Sometimes the timer does not work or the reps were off. I did the strength and conditioning blocks and could tell by the end I had gains in both areas. I did love it! However, in order to continue my progress I need an app with continuous programming. This only had 16 weeks. I don’t have time to jump around to various apps and find workouts. I tried HITT after finishing strength and conditioning and the first workout seemed a bit easy. Ultimately, I will be switching to a program that has continuous programming. Hopefully TWC will get there one day!

Lacking sound
While I love the workouts, there is no sound. So there are so many timed exercises without a beep or anything to let you know that the exercise has ended. You need to be looking at your phone all the time, and there is also no voice cue stating which exercise you are doing. And I have looked and tried everything and don’t seem to be able to play music while also running this app. I feel like this app is months away from being finished. As of May 21, 2024 I would not pay for the subscription once my trial expires.

Disappointing update
Frustrating app - key issues, you now can’t listen to music or Spotify while app is running and your plan continues day by day even if you haven’t completed a workout.
Disappointed
I was so excited for this app! However, when it was first released I could not get the sound for the tutorials or have my music in the background - even though the app could do this. I cancelled my free trial. However, I really wanted to give it a go and have subscribed again, and to my delight I now have sound for the tutorials and I can play my music. However there is yet another issue with the app, this time with accessing the program I have selected -I was three weeks in and now the app won’t play the workouts. I have contacted customer support only to be told they are working on it with no timeframe to when it will be resolved. They have directed me to the apps on demand workouts which are still working - but that is not what I signed up and paying for. I love the workouts, they are excellent - but the whole experience from day one has been disappointing.

Tech details missing
I was really excited for this because I love Cass’s workouts. My issues are more with the app itself. There is no sound or at least I can’t figure out how to get it to work, which is really annoying during HIIT workouts and having to watch my phone for the time all the time. The second part is alternatives. Before getting the app I reached out about this, and was told there would be an option to swap exercises for my health needs/equipment. I didn’t find this option, however. Maybe it’s all there just hard to find?

Feedback after two week trial…
First I will say I love Cass and her style of workouts so this is in no way feedback on her as a trainer. I’m coming to the end of my two week free trial and am sharing my feedback. The app has potential but I had hoped given the 3 month delay between when the app was supposed to launch and when it was actually able to launch meant every last detail would be buttoned up, especially since fitness app development is nothing new.
My biggest gripe would be the lack of a countdown timer. The workouts are heavily time based training (EMOM, AMRAP, HIIT) and the lack of a count down timer has me more focused on the clock rather than giving full intensity to the exercise I’m working on. Nobody wants to miss precious rest time!
App is advertised as a gym based routine so they are upfront about the fact that you’ll need a wide variety of equipment. Problem is, even if I was in a gym, the logistics of getting from cardio equipment to strength equipment is not realistic. Not to mention, I’m working with shared equipment that is not always available when needed.
Substitute exercises are available but too limited. I understand Cass will be offering home workouts soon but adding more dumbell options as the substitutes would help modify workouts for home or when specific equipment is not available.
I want to love this app but I think I will pass for now until it is further along in development or there is at least a schedule of when the promised enhancements will be completed.
