Great update

Loved the app but the rewards popup was intrusive initially. It was a two handed job to press close before having access to your tickets. It’s now less intrusive, is smaller and allows one handed thumb swipe down to remove the popup. Perfectly acceptable. Superb update. Thank you.

Wherever I go in Europe it works - it is just great

Don’t buy their Insurance it’s a scam

You have to give up your personal phone number, email etc to make a claim for it to say we don’t cover train delays? WTH does it cover?

Please...

Please bring back the "pull down to refresh" toggle. I'm actually begging. When the trains are delayed, which seems to be every week due to this weather, the quickest and most user friendly way to refresh the screen is by pulling it down. Now and for some months, I have to click "earlier trains" and then "later trains" to refresh the search page. It's so silly!!!!

Booking Tickets

Good service.

Too expensive

Unfortunately, Trainline introduced, without any notice, a split ticket fee to my commute journey. For the first time, this now makes them more expensive than Uber for train tickets. I have no option but to move my ticket purchases over to Uber, which give 10% credit on tickets too.

Can’t recommend

Not a scathing review, but I can’t recommend them. And they’ve been such a headache I felt morally obliged to let people know. Customer service has been fine once I was able to get a hold of someone- but I’ve been up charged only to be given train routes with more connections than I asked for, no time table as to when I’m able to catch the train on multi-step routes and it took me a week and a bunch of calling to figure out if I even had tickets. I was told later this was because their system has bugs and will not display any of your tickets if one ticket in an order is refunded. Needless to say I paid a premium for worse service than putting the tickets together myself and I shall not be using this application again.

Edit: Looking back at this review I think I was too generous with them. Not worth your time I think.

Train Booking

A easy to use app

Great prices

If you book in advance and can be flexible on times you can get some great low cost tickets.

Easy to use

Fantastic app. Easy to compare prices, easy to book.

Useless

Train app which doesn’t know how the trains run. Says a train from London Bridge but apparently not. I physically tried to press 0 stars but wouldn’t let me. Can’t even set up there app properly.

Done from my bed

Daughter (23) did it in 20 seconds.

Easy Booking

Just got the app 10 minutes ago and now booked on our trip! Easy peazy!

App v’s website price increase

I was looking for train times and costs on the Trainline website, found the ones I wanted and did exactly the same search on the app, I was very surprised to see 100% increase in cost on the app for exactly the same journey, times, date, passengers etc… needless to say I booked directly with Avanti. Very poor service.
I did delete and reinstall the app, I logged out and back in again and no change to the cost on the app.

Ticket wouldn’t activate

My train ticket wouldn’t activate on day of travel. I ended up having to pay for another ticket at train station due to this.

Poor process

If the ticket is bought through Trainljne any compensation for delays or cancellations should be done by Trainline, however, they send you off on your own to check various policies of the train providers and make separate claims by copying and pasting all the information that Trainline is already in possession of.

Why can’t I select a ticket? I need to go somewhere tomorrow!!

Something wrong with the app

Pointless and slow

They make you download an app just to view your ticket, and then the app functions slowly and makes you activate your ticket on the day of. It’d be far easier if there was just an option to send the ticket to your email without having to use some nonsense app. Just provide that as an option.

Great service

Incompetent gouging

(1) Overcharges for italian train tickets, available much more cheaply elsewhere.

(2) Makes it impossible to buy tickets a reasonable time before the train has arrived.

(3) Inaccurate ticket descriptions.

(4) Customer services ignore concerns, just repeats verbiage from website.

Don't waste your money on their fees.
