Primitive could be so much better

First of all - reading the recent reviews are obviously employees, they marvel at the convenience of just picking up their phone to control their AC? Really, most people just call that an App…
The schedule function is too tedious, they should take some cues from Nest. Ecobee does the same nonsense, it doesn’t need to be difficult. The History shows only 2 modes 100% and less. So if the compressor is running at 95% then it gives the user the impression that they are saving energy, too course. Where is the cutting edge sophistication in that. Trane sells one of the most expensive systems, I wish they’d increase their software budget to better reflect the product line. Very disappointed with this app.

App

At least 6 degrees colder than set. Unreliable. Temp fluctuates constantly.

Review

Great being able to control house temperature from anywhere!

Used to work great…..

After the recent update simply getting into the schedule, making a temperature change and then saving it requires multiple attempts using multiple devices. This application has become a source of frustration.

“Not connected”!?!?!?

Excellent app

Easy to use.

Great app

I love having this app that I can check on the temperature at my house from anywhere.

Awful

This app is pathetic. Get Apple to make a new one or just allow Home Kit to control my units.

Falsely reports that it changed the temperature when I clicked down several times

I’ve had this app for a long time and I just visited the Support site link through the App Store and that website is abysmal. After spending a minute on the site, I should’ve been able to find a way to contact Support no such luck. I’ve used it for a long time and lately. It just doesn’t seem to work correctly. It reports that I have changed the temperature., But then I find that the change didn’t work, even though it reported success in the app. This makes the app useless garbage.

Offline

Issues w the app and device constantly going offline when the internet is online.

StL Heatwave

Our Trane air conditioner is great! It is easy to program. We simply set it and forget it.

Great when it decides to work

The app and thermostat are really convenient when they decide they want to function. More often than not, it disconnects from WiFi for no reason then makes it a hassle to reconnect (even that doesn’t work more than half the time). The difficulty maintaining connection (and inability to reconnect successfully) make it very inconvenient.

Not working

Update July 30, 2026. Local outdoor temperature has been stuck on 84 degrees for 2 days now. Re-booted, no help.
App stopped working today Jan. 3, 2026 around 9 AM CDT and cannot be re-started.

Garbage

I just had a new Trane installed and it requires the Trane thermostat so my beloved Nest had to go. This app is garbage! Extremely complicated to do what should be the simplest thing. Trying to create a schedule and having to click and drag and add periods. What in the world? Why can’t I just enter times and temps for each day? Where are home and away modes? ECO mode? Why can’t you learn and create a schedule based on how I set the temps? I have two wireless sensors and why can’t I just build my preference for which to use when into my schedule? Why can’t I easily rename the sensors? Creating automations is long and tedious. What year are we in? This interface needs an overhaul. And why can’t I adjust the humidity in the app?!

Terrible app

We had the nest thermostat and switched to the Trane after getting a new furnace and ac unit. This device is awful. Anyone giving this a positive rating has not used a nest which is intuitive and easy to use. Love the units but the thermostat is awful!

Home owner

No problems with the system and very efficient compared to old system so far. System is six years old. 👍

Very intuitive app

This Trane app is very intuitive and easy to use. I use it daily to look at the temperature outside and then adjust the temperature in the house accordingly. I also use it while traveling to make adjustments to the temperature for the house. If there are storms at the house I can shut the unit off temporarily to protect it from any power surges.

Great system

Great informative app. Love it.

Trane Thermostat

We bought a very expensive Trane system just a few years ago. Every time it goes down, ( usually right after servicing, and we’re on vacation) there is no notification as to when? it has gone down!! This is a problem if you live in Florida!
