Great when it decides to work
The app and thermostat are really convenient when they decide they want to function. More often than not, it disconnects from WiFi for no reason then makes it a hassle to reconnect (even that doesn’t work more than half the time). The difficulty maintaining connection (and inability to reconnect successfully) make it very inconvenient.

Update July 30, 2026. Local outdoor temperature has been stuck on 84 degrees for 2 days now. Re-booted, no help.

Garbage
I just had a new Trane installed and it requires the Trane thermostat so my beloved Nest had to go. This app is garbage! Extremely complicated to do what should be the simplest thing. Trying to create a schedule and having to click and drag and add periods. What in the world? Why can’t I just enter times and temps for each day? Where are home and away modes? ECO mode? Why can’t you learn and create a schedule based on how I set the temps? I have two wireless sensors and why can’t I just build my preference for which to use when into my schedule? Why can’t I easily rename the sensors? Creating automations is long and tedious. What year are we in? This interface needs an overhaul. And why can’t I adjust the humidity in the app?!

Terrible app
We had the nest thermostat and switched to the Trane after getting a new furnace and ac unit. This device is awful. Anyone giving this a positive rating has not used a nest which is intuitive and easy to use. Love the units but the thermostat is awful!

No problems with the system and very efficient compared to old system so far. System is six years old. 👍
Very intuitive app
This Trane app is very intuitive and easy to use. I use it daily to look at the temperature outside and then adjust the temperature in the house accordingly. I also use it while traveling to make adjustments to the temperature for the house. If there are storms at the house I can shut the unit off temporarily to protect it from any power surges.

Trane Thermostat
We bought a very expensive Trane system just a few years ago. Every time it goes down, ( usually right after servicing, and we’re on vacation) there is no notification as to when? it has gone down!! This is a problem if you live in Florida!
not user friendly
the app is not user friendly. trying to make a schedule is ridiculous. the actual thermostat touch screen must be from the early 00's when they first came out. takes about 10-15 finger presses to get the screen to actually work. I will not get a trane in any of my properties in the future.

Great A/C and thermostat
We love our Trane air conditioner! We live in Phoenix and it keeps us cool in the desert heat. The thermostat and app are also awesome! I think it’s much easier to use than Google nest.
Useless
owning new ac systems less than 2 month . installing this app to control thermostat and disconnect almost 1 every few days . Had to reconnect app several times and now finally it stopped to connect at all . Did all recommend troubleshooting steps delete and reinstalled app . Rebooted thermostat nothing it connects to my wifi but app is not connecting to thermostat. Very frustrated

Colored icons showing lights and outlets that are on
You have a great app, but when I go to bed, I check which items are open and it is easy to see if my garage door is open as it shows up red. If you could make the lights and outlets yellow when they are on that would be very helpful.

Great App, great HVAC System
It took me a very, VERY short time to get the App and Thermostat synced via WiFi. But honestly I couldn’t have done it with Trane Tech Support. This was by far the BEST, shortest support session I’ve ever experienced. kudos to Trane and Trane Tech Support!
Doesn’t work
Won’t even run. Instantly crashes every time you open the app. 0/5
Poor UI design
The app is supposed to allow you to program thermostat schedules. However, the developer has not put much thought into how the end user will accomplish the task. It is extremely difficult if not impossible to program schedules intuitively using this app. Needs a major revamp.
Trane Thermostat
I absolutely love my Trane Thermostat ! It is easy to operate and keeps the house at a perfect temperature for comfort and my pocketbook.
