Unclear how to export
Response from developer
Hello! You can export a transcript from an iPad by first opening the file, then tapping on the Document Menu (this is the one that has the name of the transcript itself, and a little V-shaped down arrow) and picking Export, then the type of file you want to export (HTML, Markdown, CSV, etc). This will open a standard iOS Share Sheet where you can pick where to send the exported file. If you need additional help, please get in touch by email, via the Contact Customer Support link inside the app, as we can’t provide detailed support via App Store review responses (by email, we can do things like send screenshots or dig into technical details if there’s a problem). Thanks!
Not Understanding the High Ratings
Response from developer
Hello! I’m sorry to hear that you have encountered a crash while using the search and replace feature. If you get in contact with Customer Support using the link inside the app, we can look into that for you. As far as transcription accuracy goes, no AI transcription is perfect, but Transcriptionist includes a variety of different AI brain sizes — larger ones take up more space and run slower, but provide more accurate transcription — so you can choose the one that suits you best. If your device is powerful enough, we find the “Large (v3 Turbo)” to be a particularly good balance (I use it myself to transcribe hours of audio every week). Hope that helps!
Seeing good progress
Response from developer
Hello! To be able to use an AI Brain, your device needs two things: enough storage space to download it, and enough working memory (“RAM”) to run it. All iPad Pro models have lots of storage space, so (unless you’ve filled it up, of course) you probably have enough to download even the largest AI Brain. But only some of the latest models have enough working memory for the largest brain. If your device doesn’t have enough working memory for a brain, Transcriptionist won’t waste your storage space and bandwidth downloading something you won’t be able to use. If you believe it has made a mistake about it, please get in touch by email using the Customer Support link inside the app so we can investigate. Thanks!
How do you use this?
Response from developer
Hello! I’m sorry to hear that you have encountered difficulty using Transcriptionist. For assistance with using the app, please contact us directly using the Customer Support link inside the app, or by visiting our website (we have no way of emailing you in reply to App Store reviews, as they’re public, and so don’t include your email address). Thanks!
Very nice transcription but minor improvement better
One improvement I am looking forward to is to collate the transcripted text in a clip with Ferrite so that some words may be positioned in the waveform to facilitate editing the corresponding clip. I mean it would be better to integrate the Transcriptionist
Into Ferrite, or vice versa.
It is a really good audio editor app!
