Less stable lately
I leave this running long-term on an iPad to monitor a doorbell and it was a great solution initially after the last few releases, I have noticed sometimes what I’m seeing on the screen isn’t what is actually happening on the outside and I realize that it just freezes occasionally, and there is no indication that it has partially crashed when you go to the gallery all of the thumbnails are black and you need to restart it to resume your video feed it. It’s a pity because it was rock solid when I installed it.

Spotlights
At the top of my main screen it used to just show spotlights.
Now it's showing ALL detections, rendering this part of the screen pointless. That's the whole point of the detections screen.
At least give us a toggle to decide what is shown here.

Thousands of unwanted alerts
Where’s the AI to detect and make this system useful. Right now. It’s just junk and simply not with the cost. Photos are grainy. Tens of thousands of photos of gentle motions cause it to alert. A typical story of crying wolf.
Great system
My guy at WiFiDC installed this and did a great job. All ubiquity cameras, switches, antennas, dream machine awesome. It just works always. I plan on adding to already 9 cameras but there’s always room for more. Great to keep an eye on the dogs and happenings around the house especially when I’m not there. It’s really a great system and there have been no problems to write about. I have had this in place since 2022.

Cams keep going offline
Unifi seems like a great product- in theory.
However, my cameras keep going offline for no reason which requires me to uninstall and reset them manually each time. And the app is buggy and takes an eternity to load.

Easy to set up and use
As with many Unifi products the set up was very simple and the execution of the App perfect. As with all tech you need to invest time to fully optimise for your installation. It is certainly worth spending the hours to make the Protect App ( and Cameras) operate exactly as you would wish. Unless absolutely necessary I would not bother with the Viewport. Use your browser.

Reolink and AI port - no go
Three AI ports - multiple Reolink cameras - some brand new. Tried multiple configurations. Appears to only work at 1 camera at 2K per AI port. 50% of what AI port is supposed to handle and 50% less cost efficiency. Looking to move to another NVR.
