I’m trying to live gracefully with a painful, degenerative illness.
This app is NOT:
-Trauma informed
-Considerate of people with disabilities or living with other extreme circumstances such as abuse, civil unrest, or poverty.
-Designed to give an appropriate response to input. Regardless of how you respond, it gives unhelpful prompts assuming your emotions are based on a “thought error.” Claims (sans source) that the majority of all low moods are based on thought errors. Based on what peer reviewed studies?
This app does:
-Make fun of you for having a low mood. It’s response to me feeling low today because I received devastating medical news was, “Did you call out of work today and stare at a piece of corn on the floor?” Then implored me to find the thought error on which my mood is based after I answered twice that my low mood is NOT based on a thought error.
-Continue sending prompts after I deleted the app.

Oh no, I'm sorry this happened! Apple is responsible for this charge, but you can still request a refund from them, please see this support article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084. If Apple denies the refund request, please contact us at support@uplift.app and we will be sure you get your money back!
Mental health....?
Response from developer
Oh no, I'm sorry you had a bad experience! There is a premium version of UpLift, which helps support our small team and keeps our operations afloat. If you scroll down on the paywall, there is a "Not now" option - which will allow you to skip the subscription. Many tools and resources are available for free. Please reach out to us to talk about options if you'd like to try the premium version and have financial hardship. As far as other mental health options being free, unfortunately that is not the case in the United States. However, you can often access mental health services through your insurance. You can also find free or reduced options through county mental health centers, student therapists at universities, and through religious or charitable organizations. Support groups and group therapy can also be good options. The "Find Support" section in the Tools tab of UpLift can help you get more ideas.

Worthless “trial”
Response from developer
This sounds like a bug! Please email us at support@uplift.app and we can help you through this and extend your trial.
This app can be deceitful - and I want my $70 back
I did the free trial, really hoping to be able to see in that time if this would be useful for me. If it was, I’d have no hesitation in paying for it.
The first day, it asked me a few very brief questions. Then a day or two later, I got a push notification to answer a few more questions. It was again brief, and the little slides it had me read were fine, but nothing that couldn’t be found elsewhere easily for free.
Then it said that it’s best to wait a few days before “meeting” again. I would have preferred to get into it more, sooner, knowing the clock was ticking on my free trial. I agreed to have the app check in with me in 2 days.
However, the app never checked in again. And when I realized it, and decided the app wasn’t worth my $$, it was on the very day my 7 day trial ended, and I had been charged $70.
I have no real understanding of what I’m paying for because so far it just seems like some mental health tips you could find with a quick google search. If there is more, this app did a terrible job of illustrating that in the 7 day period.
If the app is going to suggest taking days off in between sessions, then the trial period needs to last longer to give people a real understanding of what they are paying for.
And it might have been a fluke, but the fact that the app never “checked in” just makes me feel like I got a bit conned.
Response from developer
Thank you so much for your comments. That is definitely a fluke that the app never checked in with you! Please reach out to us at support@uplift.app and we'll be able to investigate this further and make sure you receive a refund.
Does not work at all.
I will update my review once this is addressed.
