I cannot respond to people interested in my items as I am locked out of sending messages
The only messages I get are fraud!!!!
Even with settings set for email and push notifications, never get any it really makes it difficult because you have to get in the app multiple times to verify if you have a message. Also a lot of scammers. Beware of messages asking for info to make a money transfer. They saying they out of town but wants to pay you right away then sends you a link and if you click it you are screwed. Meet in public places and ask for cash only.

I have been using Varage sale for over 10 years now, it used to be a one of kind of a platform for the longest time , but off late we have a ton of members who are scamming people I u stand they are inactive accounts and there is nothing much that can be done ! But it’s Frustrating act for those who want to use the platform to buy and sell items.

I’ve had my items on here for months, and no sales. Varage sale was a complete waste of time, I would give zero stars if I could.
Terrible app, moderated by idiots.
This has been an excellent app but recent scammers are exhausting. Unfortunate not more security measures in place.
Unfortunately, this past year varagesale is not doing a good job getting rid of fake accounts. People who request e-transfers and they’re just trying to scam you need to be gone.
I am disappointed
I keep getting an error message that says to ‘try again later’. Very frustrating and time consuming when there may not be a spare moment.
Way too many scammers lately. All the messages I get (2 times a week at least) are scams.
So many scammers recently. And why are the categories full of ads now instead of the actual items? If you go to a category it’s all ads from “MaxSold” or whatever. There are barely any actual items showing up now. Sometimes it just says “no data” and loads nothing - my internet is fine. Used to be such a good place to buy and sell. Not so much anymore.

I’ve been searching for a recliner and sofa for a few months now, and I’ve come to VarageSale many times, searching thru the various communities I’m a member of. However, there a so many listings that have inquiries on them for weeks, months and years, that have never been answered yet the items are still listed as available. And when you message the sellers they don’t reply either. It would be different if it was one or two listings, but there are a lot. And it’s frustrating to think you’ve found something over and over again, only to scroll down and see people have been asking about it for up to two years or more with no reply. Or to message the seller and never hear back, over and over again. It seems like sellers ought to be required to update or bump or do something to their listings to keep them active, so they don’t sit there forever with people continually thinking they’ve actually found something for sale and not yet another dead-end. I finally just closed my account because I’ve not been able to find a single piece of either furniture item that was actually available or could get a seller to respond. I’ll just have to try Facebook marketplace. I hate Facebook and would much rather deal with a small-town type app, but this is just too frustrating to happen continually.

Need better replies & spread to more local areas
What was once (5+ years ago) a great site for buying and selling has become a hotbed for scammers and it’s only getting worse.
This app use to be great. There were guidelines and rules that weeded out the no shows and scammers. Was a bit strict, but most were about keeping things fair and considerate. Things keep going downhill with each ‘update’ and now I rarely look unless I’m prepared to be annoyed.
Since the recent buyout, there have been more issues with photos taking very long to load or not loading at all.
Too many scammers. Not safe.
Have used this app for years and it worked well. Now, it has too many ads and a lot of scammers. I probably got 1-3 scammers a day messaging me about items before I deleted my account. Also, have had technical issues that I’ve contacted the help desk about that have gone unanswered, or a very long delay before receiving a response. All of a sudden I just couldn’t send messages? Not worth the headache. Switching to marketplace.
