New app has fewer features and feels unfinished
I actually like the Vent-Axia unit itself, the hardware works well and I have two installed, both of which perform reliably in normal operation.
However, the updated app is a big step backwards. It now has fewer functions than the previous version, features such as Quiet Night Mode appear to have been removed, which is really disappointing. The new interface also doesn’t look as polished or refined as before. It honestly feels more like a beta development mock-up than a finished consumer app.
Another ongoing issue is after a power cut. When the power comes back on, the unit shows a red light and won’t function properly until you reconnect to it via Bluetooth to clear the fault. Both of my units do this, so it doesn’t seem to be a one-off issue. It’s frustrating to have to manually intervene every time there’s a brief outage.
The product itself is good, but the new app experience is poor and lets it down significantly. Please bring back the missing features and improve the stability and design of the app.

PIN code again
This app wasn’t too bad before, very limited range of adjustments but OK. However it now seems to be updated and you have to add the PIN that is on the body of the fan. I now have cupped this after the 3rd time i had to enter it in 3 months.
1 star
Absolutely useless application. It keeps disconnecting the fan
Just awful
Before the latest version the app was slow and non-intuitive. Since the upgrade the App is much slower less intuitive and you have to go through so many actions just to turn on a boost. I have left the boost setting on 10 as the alternatives don’t even make sense.
The fan itself though is very good even though expensive, the App would be better and more logical if written by a 6 year old.

New app a step backwards
The new V7 is visually swish but much harder to use. On my fan I can no longer set a default time for overrides and it is not clear how to automatically boost on high humidity.
Big step backwards.

Terrible
Rubbish app, which doesn’t seem to have a cloud backend, at least I can only access our MVHR if my phone is on the same WiFi network as this device. If I leave the app and go back to it, the device is no longer listed. I need to force quit the app and then reopen it to once again be able to select my device. There are too many other issues to mention

App update forgot all devices
Recent app update resulted in all the devices being forgotten.
Have not been able to reconnect them yet due to access issues getting to the fans to get the pin again.
Not good….

For Svara fan - expected more control
The app was recently updated but the update forgot all my device connections so I had to re-pair everything.
It's now impossible to know what you're actually adjusting. For example, the humidity sensor works on a percentage.
What does that mean? As you reach 100% is it getting more sensitive to humidity or less sensitive? Does it require more moisture in the atmosphere or less to activate the fan?
And that leads me to the fan itself. The fan has a mind of its own! It comes on when the room is bone dry and stays off when there's clear condensation.

Update Bricked Fan
The update wiped all of my fans and had to start again from scratch. Had to get ladder and remove each fan module to get the PIN and reconnect to the app. One of my fans completely bricked, no red or blue LED and unable to connect so have to shell out £100+ if I want to replace - what a con!
Poor skills by the developer, profile fan settings should be saved outside of the app with the option to restore / import as most apps allow you. However we’ve gone back to the 80s computer games with no option to save

Horrible App Update (v7.0.0)
After this update. However, I tried reconnecting the fan and it no longer connects (app keeps saying that the device is not pairing mode). Have lost the capability to configure anything. Horrible experience.
Vent Axia Svara
This new app is total rubbish.
Lost all my fans on update
4 fans previously setup all working fine have now been lost on the app after the recent update. I now have to start from scratch, disassemble each fan to get its PIN code, Bluetooth pair and set up each fan profile all over again. Poor skills by the developer, these settings should be saved outside of the app with the option to restore / import as most apps allow you

Location tracking and added steps…
Second Update. Since the new version 7 update it really isn’t possible to see what the fan is doing anymore as you used to be able to do. If the fan is airing and you have walked in and turned the light on. You cannot see this as it shows the manual trigger of the light in the status bar. Despite the fan being on for an airing function.
You have so much UI space. Use it to display information. Icons for each mode as you used to have etc. being able to reorder your fans in the list would also be helpful. I have 7 and they are in the order they are added, rather than the order I would like.
This really is a terrible update. At this stage I think I could do a better job of the layout and functions.
Updated. Version 7.0.1 No change to location tracking. Please stop requesting location data or explain clearly why it is needed. Being required to confirm building regulations as I believe was said in a previous reply isn’t good enough. As an end users I can do what I want with my extraction. Please offer a method of disabling this for users. It’s creepy!!
I updated to version 7 of the app earlier. The first issue I have is the requirement to enable your location to use the App. I don’t believe this is required by Apple to use Bluetooth so this looks rather creepy and privacy invading to me. Something that will prevent me from purchasing any further products.
Version 7 requires you to re pair each of your devices. Which is a little inconvenient when you have half a dozen units out of reach, I can’t help but wonder why they couldn’t keep the existing connections.
The UI has taken a backward step in my opinion and I would reverse the upgrade if I could. Better imagery but usability has suffered.
Functions that used to take one click now take three. Pause for example on a PureAir Sense. You used to be able to just click Pause. Now you have to press the centre multi button, select Pause then set the time. This seems unnecessary. This new design is mostly unused space. Why not have a pause button and a boost button.
You could even have an immediate pause and boost button and a configurable one. Other options for the device are also tucked away and not as clear as the previous version. Credit where it is due that the boost and pause functions now have selectable time against them up to an hour.
Overall a usability misstep and what seems to be an invasion of privacy for an application designed to control fans. I don’t want you to have my location. I would like to hear from the developer their thoughts on why location is needed and bringing back usability

Lost all my fans with the update
The update has deleted all my fans and I now need to reconnect them all. I am not a fan of this update.
User is being nagged to share his location.
I can not see a reason why the app is trying to force the user to share his location by displaying annoying message every time you go in and out of device menu. This is definitely not privacy friendly app!
Also, they claim it is required for WiFi connection! What a nonsense!

Huge Improvement
The new UI is leaps beyond the previous version. Everything is well laid out, well explained, and easy to navigate. Great job on making a decent app much much better.
Response from developer
Hello Gabriel B Thank you for your review, we appreciate that you like it as much as we do.
Very poor
Bought this fan like other people to get the promised controls. Virtually none on there and not even sure when they kick in, whether when on the app or when fan decides to come on itself. Need to try and reread it all. Feel conned buying the fan as minimal app functionality and even registration as an engineer on the app adds nothing.

Why even bother?
With an app so bad, so limited in its functionality, and so unreliable, why did they even bother going down the “smart” route?
Listed features missing!
As others have mentioned, the app only allows you to adjust the speed of the fan (within a limited amount) and the overrun time for the Svara . All other features do not exist in the app. The primary reason for me buying this fan was the control I could have over it, I could have saved money and bought a cheaper one with no app and manual controls.
Edit: I
Use the PAX connect app instead, and choose the Calima you get access to all these features.

Works perfectly… but
Works perfectly for me, I can just the power and boost. but there’s no humidity controls for my Svara. The manual says adjust humidity in the app, but there’s nothing there??
