Full of bugs
Workouts are solid. Some videos don’t capture the entire movements. but the written summaries make up for it. Tech is needed to ensure the app works. Once again the app isn’t working.
Misleading Subscription Structure
I signed up for this thinking it was a normal fitness app subscription that could be canceled anytime, like most apps. What I didn’t realize was that “12-month transformation” meant being locked into a full year contract with mandatory weekly payments, even if you stop using the app.
I only used the app one day and tried to cancel a few weeks later, only to find out they consider it a non-cancelable commitment. I do not think the average person expects a fitness app to function like a long-term contract.
$16/week may not sound like much at first, but over a year that’s more than $800 for an app subscription. In today’s economy, locking people into a year-long digital subscription with almost no flexibility feels unreasonable and misleading.
People should fully understand before signing up that this is not a normal cancel-anytime app membership.

Everything in one place
I’ve been doing Mark and Lauren’s programs for years. They were always worth the price. I saw way more gains following their programs than I ever did in the ten years prior of just winging it. This app is amazing because you can do so many different programs as your needs change. And all of the recipes, meals, etc. It is an amazing deal. If you are the type of person who doesn’t like to wing it and you want to see consistent progress, this is the best deal I’ve seen on anything like this. And it’s actual quality content unlike most of the fitness apps out there.

Full of Bugs + Refusing to Cancel Subscription
I’ve contacted the company on multiple occasions to cancel my 3-month subscription because the app is FULL of bugs. It crashes constantly and a bunch of the features just don’t work like checkin and other features.
Customer service refuse to cancel my subscription claiming I need to complete the 3-months but they have not fulfilled their own obligations in providing a fully functional app.
Don’t expect customers to pay you Mark and Lauren if you can’t provide a functional app that should have been properly bug tested before it was released.
I’m someone that is usually so understanding of these things but it has honestly been a joke of an experience. I’ll be contacting my bank and filing a dispute if they don’t handle this ethically and fairly.

NOT Free and lots of bugs
None of this “free” app’s content can be accessed without a very expensive paid subscription. You can’t even subscribe in the app, only at vrtoapp.com. Sketchy. Good luck when you want a refund after you see what you’ve paid for!

Bummed
Had high hopes but was disappointed
I had always loved Mark & Lauren’s programs, so I was really excited when they announced they were coming out with a new app. They created a lot of hype around the app on social media and in emails. I joined the group to get early release details and was able to get in with their biggest discount on the first round. I signed up for 3 months at a discounted price of $136. Then we were told it still hadn’t been approved by the App Store. After waiting over 2 more weeks, the app was finally released and it was incredibly disappointing. Everything was glitching, NOTHING was working right. I understand with any new release there will be some bumps in the road and constant updates needed to make it better/more user friendly. But I question if the app was tested by real users at all before release. Ultimately, since it was unusable to me, I ended up emailing customer service, canceling, and requesting a refund. I was told I would get a refund within “a couple of days”. That was nearly a month ago. After emailing customer service two more times to inquire about a refund, I was told the “technical team is looking into it.” So now I have an unusable app, and still no refund.
I will continue using Mark’s guides I’ve purchased in the past because there truly is some great education and programming in there, but this new app definitely was a disappointment for the Mark Carroll/Lauren Simpson brand.

Vrto does not disappoint
The app is great!
Pros: You can track meals, track workout progress (many different programs to choose from), add additional habit to track (ie: steps, water intake, reading, and much more). The recipes are great and educational videos available.
Cons: when tracking weight, some logged accurate to what I input and some added an additional 1/2 pound to weight logged. I do wish for the days I can’t make it to the gym and have to workout at home w/ DB there were more alternative options to swap. I did try to note working out at home and why I made the swap but the “add note” window did not open when selected. not a huge deal but annoying.
The app overall as I mentioned is great. It is a new app so little issues are bound to happen. Mark and Lauren did not disappoint.
