So expensive

This app makes Uber and Lyft seem cheap, and that's saying something. I'm all for paying drivers fair wages, but if you really want to help traditional taxis then start with advocating against taxi medallion fees. They're so ridiculous and predatory to the drivers.

I got scammed

A taxi driver came to pick me up without knowing the app saying he is a friend of the other one who couldn’t come in time. Asked for cash and Istill got debited by the application.
When I sent them a message they didn’t answer me and just deleted my account.
I got a fraud report alert by the bank about this transaction after this

Impossible to sign up with a non US phone number.

Taxicabs in Boston

Was in Boston in beginning of July, used WAAVE for first time , recommended by a friend. WAAVE uses licensed cabdrivers, felt very official and safe. Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly, I’ll always use WAAVE when I’m Boston

A better way to hail and support our iconic yellow taxi

I'm often checking the prices of both Waave and Uber/Lyft in NYC. And I can see that most of the time Waave is cheaper! Fantastic! I've been a advocate for Yellow taxis. They pay their fair share to be on the road and yet they're charged for the congestion surcharge! That's ridiculous. Yellow taxis are an important part of NYC and don't let these big corporations like Uber/Lyft take them away in the city. Yellow Taxi have been moving the city for so long and now we have a chance to pay them back. I'm an advocate for the them because a lot of them are hard working people who wants to provide for their family. I see these guys as part of the MTA, honestly. There's no surge pricing like from uber/lyft. That means you won't be paying those inflated prices to go to the airports or go home from an event.
I really like the eco feature that Waave let's me select. Although I know most are already hybrids, it's nice to have an option. Whether you guys love Uber or not, they are not a good company and their drivers are constantly being hurt. I heard from a taxi driver that they only take 30 cents from each trip. Incredible that Waave does this for their driving force. No pun intended. We are paying for the service. If you're paying pennies than the drivers are getting pennies. Let's give these good companies a shot instead of feeding those companies that hurt their drivers more. Props to Waave for making a great opportunity for drivers to earn a decent living. GOOD LUCK TO WAAVE!!

Best app for taxi hailing

Must have app for hailing a cab in nyc! Forget about waving your hands or lookinh for a can and trying to decipher which ones are empty... this app is like the under of taxis!!

Disappointing

I wanted this to work. I’ve been trying to get away from Uber.

Instead this app reminded me of what I LIKE about Uber. I had almost forgotten that it is new and special to be able to push a button and have a car come.

I had also almost forgotten how hard it is to get a cab even in dense parts of Brooklyn or Manhattan. I try to hail a cab with this thing and none of their lazy bones wants to take the ride. You stare at your phone for like 2 solid minutes then told, no luck. This gets old fast.

On those same rides I got an Uber driver assigned within less than 15 seconds.

So one star for making me feel good about using Uber.

Technology is there but Cabs don’t utilize it.

I was in NY in May 2019, and I tried to use this app at least a dozen times during my five day visit. At all times, it told me that there were no drivers available. However, open, passenger free, yellow cabs with there lights on kept driving by all the time. I gave up on this app and flagged the cabs down myself. I think that in the future once the yellow cab companies and drivers know how to use the app technology that it will be a hit. Right now, I don’t think the NY yellow cab companies know how to use it. Perhaps, Waave needs to send someone over to train them.

Waave app is garbage!

Used it and it tried searching for awhile then said no drivers are available. The popular ride share apps or just hailing a cab is faster.

Wave app

Tried many times to get a cab but never available

As an avid tech savvy app ride sharing NYC guy

Now It’s one thing to introduce a new app and such to New York City and not have it work as well as others. But there are also times where you want to give feedback to other apps and have them fix the app and hopefully they’ll respond. Unfortunately this is not one of those apps. I cannot tell you how many times I have attempted to use this app, and have only used it probably once or twice and I’ve got an actual ride from it. Let alone the discount or two that they have provided, but the app seems to always freeze, never gets anything right, never has drivers around, or I’m stuck with a random driver that is apparently coming.....from 2 days ago.

No matter what borough I’m in, The application never works properly. Even when I force close it, delete it, re-download it, then open it again. I have no idea what is wrong with the application but something needs to change with this app as soon as possible. And I thought ARRO was bad? This is just as worse.

Waave brings back nyc cabs

This app can help solve many problems that are going on in today’s taxi industry.

By having the same technology as Uber and lyft, Waave can be a positive force if it gets enough people to use the app. The reality is that NYC cabs have been struggling due to the massive amount of people using these ride sharing apps. It’s also has caused more traffic in the city because more people are trying to make a quick buck on the side. By restoring the use of these cabs through Waave app it can help struggling taxi drivers if they make the right move and also help the everyday New Yorker since now they don’t have to be in the streets to hail cabs. Now you can do it from the convenience of your phone.

Made a couple trips with this and everything is good for now.

NYC YA

Tried out the app today and was surprised how quickly the cab arrived! Also Cost less than an uber

Hail yeah!

Love this idea and the support to the hardworking yellow cabbies. Looking forward to riding the WAAVE

Fail: Its not about price, its about professionalism.

This is kinda a sad attempt of TLC to get into the uber space a dollar short and a day late.

Unless the fares are drastically lower then the uber/lyft black cars, who in their right mind would WANT to ride with a crazy yellow cab driver lol. Majority of them are rude, on phone, and speed to next red light to stop fast spilling your water all over (don't drink anything in a yellow unless you want it on your lap!).

Locals and biz professionals prefer the private cars not because of price but because of image and professionalism which yellow taxi drivers are notoriously not a master of.

Tourist love the idea of NYC Taxis - stick with that waave.

Now, If this app can automatically place a complaint to tlc and tlc NOT require you to show up in person for the court hearing then maybe it is a real disruptor. Otherwise its false hope wrapped up with a map and a credit card reader replacement for driver that gives customers an easier time to try to report them.

As for app, who knows! I tried pulling the rider app but they are invite only. Nice first impression Waave. Goodluck!
