Lets users spend money on AI written slop and doesn’t warn them
I started reading a “top ranked” (no idea how…) story that started off really good. After reading the free chapters I decided to batch unlock 100 chapters using coins(which cost money) as I was enjoying the story and wanted to keep reading it uninterrupted. After the first 20 paid chapters I started noticing some timeline inconsistencies. I was still enjoying the story so I let it slid. Unfortunately the inconsistencies kept adding up after multiple chapters. It soon became obvious that the story was being written using AI and that the “author” couldn’t even proofread the junk that the AI generated. Unfortunately I had already spent the coins and there is no option to get a refund. This “author” has 4 other stories so apparently WebNovel condones this kind of slimy stuff as there is no option to report for AI slop. Allowing users to spend real money on AI generated junk is pretty scammy in my opinion. There should at least be a warning and/or a way to get a refund when “authors” use AI. I don’t like giving money to support AI laziness and I won’t be spending anymore money on this app.

False Advertised Rip off
Facebook shows an intro chapter then says continue reading for FREE in the app. The app gives a couple of free paragraph size “chapters” then says to finish you must buy the remaining chapters at a price of $99.99 for the rest of this story.

Really like the stories. And (I’m a grammar nerd) appreciate that they’re either well-edited or just good writers that respect their craft.

The first few chapters are free. After you become invested in the story every chapter locks behind a paywall. You cannot earn enough currency without paying to read more than a couple chapters a day. Want to just buy an entire book at once and be done with the paywall games? NOPE you have to buy $50 worth of coins!!! Deleting this app and finding somewhere I can read the book for free- or at least buy for a decent price.

Subscriptions are useless
So far I have spent $46 on one novel and I’m not even a third of the way through it yet.
I subscribed to a monthly membership and it only allows 12 coins a day that roughly equates to 2.5 chapters. At this rate I’ll be spending a small fortune on this App. I would not recommend paying for their subscriptions.

I started reading a book from your ad when I pushed the read now button and it opens the app but I cannot find the book.
Recent updates deleted all my novels in my VIEWED tab
Why is it that your app updates nearly always break something! As the title stated, the most recent updates deleted my novels from the VIEWED tab!!!

Stupid app
I think it’s stupid to have a subscription option that won’t even let you unlock all the books that’s stupid , the coins you get from the subscription are not even enough to unlock one book so you would have to spend 1000 of dollars to read multiple books better stick to kindle and Wattpad
Overpriced
If you want to spend $100 on one book this app is for you. If not, so your self a favor and get kindle unlimited.
Waste of money
Sure the stories are good. But to finish one book you will either read just one short chapter a day or spend over $100 a book. Your better just buying an E-book of Amazon for $20 and being able to read the whole thing. Other apps would offer a membership with a once a month payment then free reads, this app only offers monthly subscription for coins that won’t even cover more then one book. Save your money and skip the scam.

Problems
I have deleted and added this app three times. I was reading grace of a wolf and thoroughly enjoyed it until the updates quit coming. I had Point saved and had even raised the dog so I could get more point. Now I uploaded it again so that I could read another interesting story I saw a brief ad for, and it won’t connect me to the actual story. This app is just a problem.

Worth using
I keep seeing people say how expensive this app is… honestly don’t get it. I have been using this app for years and the majority of the time is all for free. At the time of this review the system in place gives 5 free daily chapters with reward options for another 4. If you check-in daily then every 2 weeks unlocks a 24 hour free read period.
My only real complaint is that sometimes the X button to close ads isn’t standard and a pain to touch right and after being open for an extended time it sucks down your battery and overheats my phone.

Confusing
I do the daily check-in and a couple other things. I never see anything adding up in my account. The only thing I can think of is I refuse to share my email. The AI to answer questions is the worst.

Down because of Audio Ads
This is a great app for fanfics but the massive downside is the audio ads that keeps on playing and have no way to stop them or close them. Banner ads are alright but why is there an ad that would randomly play when I’m reading in peace and or in the middle of audiobook mode.
Million Dollars to Read
After 20 minutes of trying to earn free points or coins, I’m nowhere near close to getting even one free chapter. Not worth the download. Skip unless you like paying $100 for AI generated writing.
