The app is much better than the website, but the bar is very low if that is the point of comparison.
It freezes all the time, particularly during the open and closing auction.

No ability to track portfolio on trend
No ability to track portfolio value on a trend over time.
Great but…
Overall this is a very nice app. I’ve been using it for very many years now and it’s excellent. However every now and again they do an update and it never seems to go quite as well as it might, this time screen is freezing so it really don’t work, which is obviously disappointing. I cannot trade on phone so I assume westpac is loosing money.

Fix Face ID broken for months
The app will write it does the job however Face ID decided to not work and despite uninstalling and reinstalling, many updates Face ID still does not work.

Live share updates not available
As I said last time. Needs to be updated live with share pricing like the commsec app. Both trading platforms look the same otherwise so I’m not sure why the westpac one is not live updated as well
Way behind the rest
No chi-x , news flags flakey and can’t clear unless you click on last 10 articles ….. massive portfolio valuation on opening so anyone looking over your shoulder can see it designed by programmers not traders - perhaps Westpac consult your traders , not tell them what they want ( maybe have a look at bells app as a precedent) -

What are the developers thinking? On portfolio screen when scrolling the headers disappear do you constantly have to scroll up and down to see what figures represent. Hopeless, doesn't happen in watchlist...
Horrific new look
Can’t believe how bad the new update has made this app. Extremely rare for me to bother to go back to app store just to leave a review, but this is shocking!
Need glasses for this app since update.
Could you please make the font bigger. It’s impossible to read now. User of this app ain’t that young.

New portfolio page is bad
The old portfolio page was fine. Why change it for the sake of change? Now you need to scroll left and right to see information that used to be available at a glance.
Why do you ruin everything
App worked fine for years. Now opens to a useless page - despite settings for “portfolio” as default page, it opens to the accounts page and requires an extra click to go to your actual holdings.
Now has a completely unnecessary and distracting “ticker” scrolling across the top of every page with no option to switch it off (a clear accessibility issue) even though it is Sunday night and the markets aren’t even open

App is not detecting Face ID.
The Westpac Share Trading app is not detecting Face ID since December the 20th 2025. It’s 26 days the technical problem is not solved. Face ID is okay in Westpac Bank account, Authenticator, Comm Bank’s Share Trading app and many others. Wrote multiple times but the issue is still persisting on. My iPhone is up to date to iOS 26.2.
