it has a solid interface. it does exactly what it says and nothing more. you type a word, matches are listed, you are fetched a definition. beautiful.
Extremely slow
Love this app but it loads new pages on extremely slowly. If that gets fixed the app will be perfect.
Incomplet
Cette application part d’un bonne intention mais est peu utile au vu de son manque d’ergonomie et surtout l’impossibilité de la consultation hors-ligne. Dans ce cas là, autant chercher directement sur le web, c’est plus rapide et plus simple.

Excellent resource. 2 requests: 1) the app is slowing down on iOS 26, can something be done about that ? 2) when swiping back and forwards, is it possible to go to the previously searched word rather than the search page? Thanks.
It’s useful but
I enjoy using this app, I always want to learn more about languages but I keep running into this issue where I go to type something in and it just slows to a halt. Each letter typed takes like 3 seconds to go through, and if I try to type faster than that it messes the whole thing.

Does exactly what it says. Easy to use / no tech problems. Ideal privacy policy.
For users looking for a dictionary app, this is a little different from some household names, because it simply returns what is on the Wiktionary website to the user query.
Wiktionary is a constant work in progress, like Wikipedia. Often, the definitions are unhelpful - for example, resplendence (noun) is defined as being resplendent. But that has nothing to do with the app.
It does what it says, I use this on an iPhone 11, iOS 17.7.2, and it’s never crashed or caused headaches. The interface is super-simple, and I appreciate there aren’t a lot of bells and whistles that detract from the core purpose and create noise. There are Bookmarks and History features that could be useful to students, but I don’t use those for day-to-day dictionary lookups. If you don’t mind Wiktionary’s drawbacks, this is a perfectly good app to do quick lookups.
Worth calling out the developer’s privacy policy is much appreciated.

Best Language App
The only thing I'd like, to make it better, would be a way to choose and list only the languages I want in the Language menu!

No integration
Doesn’t offer anything more than the Wiktionary website. No share sheet integration, no offline access unfortunately.
Simple and relieving
This is a great, clean app. No ads or sherparding. The best source for etymology and definitions I've found, other specialized apps compromise information and integrity to push you to the paid version. Hasn't crashed for me yet and really glad to have this tool :)
AMAZING app
I love it to death. It is the thing I most frequent when i’m searching for definitions or even translations of those definitions. The only complaint I have is that the app crashes INSTANTLY whenever I attempt to access my bookmarks. Don’t know if others have had this problem. Other than that it’s fantastic :).

really helps, thanks. It'd be cool, if you can click a word, then the "share" button, there's be the app on the list and the word is automatically put in the search bar.
Lost Bookmarks
This app is usually great but after the recent update I’ve lost all my bookmarks! I’ve been keeping them for years! This would also be a great use case for being able to export them. Even a CSV file would be better than losing them all :(
Probleme
Wiktionary hat früher einwandfrei funktioniert. Vermutlich nach einem Update passiert folgendes: ich öffne Wiktionary, gebe das Suchwort ein, Sprache und dann Enter. Wiktionary schließt sofort.

Impossible d’effectuer une recherche: l’application se ferme une fois la recherche lancée. Très certainement une mise à jours pour iOS 17 est nécessaire !!

can’t even look up a single word
Nice app
When I go to search a word, the keyboard has the Shift button pressed already. Please disable that because most words I search for are lowercase and capitalization matters in the search box so I have to un-press Shoft before I can start searching every time.
Also, please update the search results on each keypress, don't make me press "return" just to see a list of a few words...

Tolle App mit nur einem Defizit
Der dunkelmodus greift nicht, sobald ein nach geschlagenes Wort geöffnet wird. Das leider schon seit Jahren. Es wäre toll, wenn dies mit dem kommenden Update behoben wird.
