Unreliable
Sometimes works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Not working today. Tried turning phone off and on, and still no joy. Very annoying as the Better leisure centre car parks make us use this app to access the membership rate. When app fails, the full rip-off fee has to be paid, with no option for reimbursement.

Literally the worst app I’ve ever used
I’m not one for leaving reviews but this app consistently offers such a thoroughly awful experience that I thought I make the time to write one.
It’s just so painfully difficult to actually use it to park that I’m astonished and left hot every time I have to use it.
Search for the location you’d like to park at? Nothing happens.
Browse the map for the location and tap the place you’d like to park at? Nothing happens.
Tap the list section near the search bar and pray that it finds a place nearby for you to park? Literally a blank screen.
You can’t even go back through historic parking sessions and tap: park again.
I don’t understand why it’s just so awful? It just doesn’t work at all and one the rare, rare occasion that it does; you’re never really sure that the session is legit.
Just complete rubbish from end to end.

The ‘Y Park’, parking app that doesn’t work
We have just parked in Stanborough Park and downloaded and used this app for the first time. What an awful, unhelpful and useless app. It crashes everywhere you touch. You can’t see your history, no idea if I can extend the parking time and no email to say I paid. So the question is did I or did I not pay for the parking. Well the only way I could find out about the payment was when I checked my credit card app which showed the payment.
As the other user stated, why hasn’t the council use another user friendly app is beyond me😩

Worst Parking App I’ve used
Who knows if it works. Always worried it hasn’t registered as despite the ‘successful’ notification that pops up if you don’t screen shot it right away you’ll never be able to see it in history or anywhere in the app again…. It crashes when using history or view options. Its abysmal. And if I didn’t have to use it I’d use another car park completely. Also businesses attached to their car parks… Better Leisure… I’m pointing it out to you! No matter how often you mention it to staff they’re go to is we can’t do anything about it. It’s not something to do with us…. It’s used by your customers you should care. As there are times it’s meant I don’t use your businesses (and I’m sure I’m not alone) because of the parking hassle. There are so many other apps that are user friendly that you could opt for! Listen to the complaints. Besides mine I heard reception get complaints from two others just in the 5 minutes I was there!

Practically unusable
This is a pointless app - I think it might be designed by car park management companies looking to claim overstay penalties. Impossible to see your history, impossible to see your current usage, impossible to see the Ts and Cs and the Privacy Policy, impossible it seems even to log out once the app is open. The only thing this app does reasonably well is accept payment.
It did work for me at one time, months ago. Probably it needs an upgrade after recent iOS releases. Who knows when developers will get to this? I will avoid car park spaces using this app if I can.

Cheap, under-resourced and unfit for purpose
Given the abundance of parking apps, I presume the reason for this one to exist is that it charges lower premiums to land owners. In turn, it cuts corners in user testing, UI and UX. No ability to pay by Apple Pay or PayPal, which left me stuffed as I don’t carry a credit card on me. Crashes when main menu button is selected. Unable to edit car details. Bizarre use of iOS notifications e.g. ‘New car added’.
It’s effectively called ‘Why Pay’ which is refreshingly honest self-appraisal for a brand; better still would have been ‘Can’t pay’.

Quick and easy
I really don’t know what the bad comments are about - so don’t let them put you off. I was in a rush and realised I had to pay using this app. I hadn’t used it before, so I signed up, added my car details and paid all within a few minutes. I was hesitant at first because of the reviews but I really cannot fault the app at all

Urgently Update your 3ds!
As this stupid app has not updated its security settings, its no longer compatible with my bank so payments are being declined. Not a safe or secure system so until they update settings avoid if you can. Ive had to use this app the last two years as its linked to a Better gym. It works fine once you work it out - no help or support and you cant contact them. How the hell theyve scammed local councils in letting them run parking is beyond me.

Impossible to use
Writing this review in the hope that it’s time stamped and can be used as evidence of why I failed to pay today 25 May in Sutcliffe Park at 4.20pm. Went though every item in every screen and could not find any way to actually say that I wanted to pay for parking. Really stressed. Was dropping my son at a party so not parking was not an option. Should only have been there 5 minutes but was probably 15 as I spent 10 trying t work out how to pay.

Terrible interface for a simple parking app - but have no choice but to use it
1. You can buy a period of time for parking - but it does NOT take the 30 min FREE parking into account, so you either have keep your eye on the clock and remember to buy the parking just before the FREE time expires; or take a hit on extra cost.
2. You can add a vehicle, but can’t edit the details, like make, model, colour or even the reg. Guess you have to delete the vehicle and add it again.
3. Current parking session button crashes the app. Not obvious how to find and select the current car park.
4. Claims you can use ApplePay, but you don’t appear to have that option, and have to put in your card details. Can’t add a nickname, so need to remember the last 4 digits of your favourite card (personal/work)

Very poor, but a tip…
…is that I just discovered that, in my phone settings, I had to tick the ‘allow y-pay to use Location while using the app’ to enable me to identify and pay for parking at y-pay car parks. Finding the car park on the map in the app wasn’t enough. This isn’t clear from the app itself, no idea why you can’t book it from the map in the app without having the phone’s ‘Location’ service on, or why it doesn’t tell you when ur in the map that this is required - it would make it easier for them to take money.

First time user
It’s ok! But with a few adjustments could be a lot better.
Seems super sensitive and will only let me use the app if I am using my own data, not Wi-Fi? (Even password protected Wi-Fi)
The pale safe green is not colour accessible so pretty difficult to read for a good portion of the population who are colour blind. There is also enough space for the content text to be bigger and use a bolder variant of the font used. Would help a lot!
Does not seem to pick up the nearest parking area even when you have location settings on. You have to zoom in to the map and click manually. Very fiddly for someone able bodied. Fixing this could really help ALL users.
Hope theses comments reach tech support as with a little work these minor fixes could help make reviews more positive.

History
The app needs to be updated! So annoying when i go on to history it throws me out. So annoying that history cannot be viewed.
Also other centres from other countries keep coming up makes it so hard to fins the one your at.

awful app- how to avoid pitfalls
1) Dont log in as guest mode- as far as I can tell this is a fake option that doesnt allow you to book parking. Just click Sign Up.
2) You have to turn location services ON for the App- if you just type in your correct location in the App, it simply wont allow you to book parking. Seems like they simply want to force you to give them location data to monetize for no reason.

One of the worst parking apps
This must be the most annoying app to get set up and to actually use. Ridiculous password requirements for absolutely no reason. No option to add card from Apple Pay / pre filled info. Stupid error messages instead of just asking for car details the first time it’s being used. In most cases I use the apps as they’re easier but if it’s a car park that uses this app I’d rather just use a pay machine next time.

Okay, easy enough
As with other reviewers, I was concerned by the negative reviews, so was pleasantly surprised to find the app was easy enough to use. My only suggestion would be to improve the password requirements, although that’s no doubt defined by the fact that the app stores PPI.
The inclusion of Apple Pay would be a very welcome addition.

What the hell is this thing?
Had downloaded this dismal bit of tat recently. Tried to use it to pay for parking today in a car park that said it was usable there.
The search function on the map page found the location but there didn’t seem to be a way to select the venue, let alone go on to pay for the parking.
After >5 wasted minutes trying to interface with it, I gave up and paid with card. Hence, I’m struggling to see why I’d want to fill precious memory on my phone with this pretty but pointless app.

The worst experience of an app in a long time
Hire a UX designer please. Your app is currently so bad it’s extremely frustrating when you need to pay quickly for parking.
Your form validation is particularly horrible. Read the Baymard Institute findings on best practice for form usability. The worst offender I found was your password requirements. So specific and also therefore insecure. If people have to invent a password just for your service, they are most likely noting it down which isn’t secure. So painful

Reviews left me worried but was actually ok
After arriving in a car park and seeing all the 1* reviews, I was worried I would not be able to use my phone and be searching for some coins.
The sign up process was actually simple, perhaps some people don’t know how to use emails?
The password criteria seems a bit over the top on security requirements but thankfully it keeps me logged in, otherwise I’d have to make a new account every time I want to pay.

How to get this awful app to work
Firstly, this is probably the worst app I’ve used with poor info on parking from the company using it….. acknowledge and upgrade your app and change your signage.
Here’s how to get logged on to pay.
1) don’t try and use the app initially to sign up - their OTPs don’t send to emails (even though they say ‘successfully sent).
Sign up on a home computer/lap top.
2)You can add car and card details on home computer BUT you can’t pay for parking on the home computer.
3)Download app on phone and log in with details used on home computer. Search for parking area on map using the three lines on RHS on map page - and finally -set up payment!
** If you have downloaded the app prior to logging on via a home computer you will need to delete the app and reinstall otherwise you get in the same loop of not recognising details or asking for a OTP…..😡🤪***
I hope this review saves you from going crazy - like I’ve been today.
