Cameras were good when we didn’t have to watch ads!
Would give 0 stars if I could’ve. We’ve had these cameras for almost 10 years. They were never the greatest cameras on the market, but they did what we needed them to do, and for a long time, we were perfectly fine with them. Unfortunately, over the last year or so, they have become absolutely terrible. These cameras are supposed to make it easy to check who’s at our door, monitor our property, and quickly view alerts when something happens. But now, with the addition of ADS, they have become incredibly frustrating to use. If I want to check an alert, I now have to sit through an ad?! Seriously?! I shouldn’t have to watch an advertisement just to access a security alert from MY OWN CAMERA. And that’s not even the worst part. The last 10 or so times I’ve tried to check my cameras, I’ve gotten a “device offline” message. My Wi-Fi is not the problem, everything else in our house works perfectly fine. These cameras went from being something that worked well enough and did what we needed, to being some of the most frustrating cameras I’ve ever dealt with. The constant ads, sometimes 8 at a time as long as 1 minute, alone are enough to make me want to throw them out. Having to watch an ad every single time I want to check a security alert absolutely KILLS me. I really wanted to like these cameras, especially after having them for nearly 10 years, but at this point, it’s time for a change. We’ll be looking into better options because I shouldn’t have to fight with my security cameras just to see what triggered an alert.
10 years of loyalty, and this is what we get? Time for something better. Also, one fails to update its firmware every time we attempt to update. We are done with these.

Annoying ads ruin app
Despite a bit temperamental the app had, up until now been okay to use. Now, with no changes made locally, all devices are showing as offline in live mode yet are still recording and notifying events. After the fiasco of adding ads to the app which prevented quick access to viewing cameras, I am just about ready to walk away and find a new provider.

I’ve used this for 10 years and it’s a PAID app. For whatever reason they think they’re not making enough money they introduced ads basically making the app unusable. Stay away from Zmodo
Useless now
Have had these cameras for years but now with ads it’s become pointless as a security camera . Especially if I had used this as a baby monitor for a while .
Ads are ridiculous!
The ads have made this app virtually unusable. It takes over a minute to get to my cameras. What if there’s an emergent situation and I’m not home? You all have bc completely ruined the app. I would rather pay an extra dollar than deal with the endless ads that you can’t skip. Make it stop!
Used to be decent until ads
This used to be a pretty reliable app until they overloaded with ads. When I need fast access to make sure my house is safe, you now have to wait 2 mins for ads unless you pay more to upgrade for ad free. Will be removing all Zmodo cameras and app and going to something different

ads were added.. endless ads.. requiring 6 clicks through them to use your cameras… with no way to eliminate. if they need extra money. let us skip ads for 4$ or something but instead we are stuck in ad/click pergatory
Always offline
These cameras are always offline all at the same time, they still record but the live feeds are not available which makes them useless! Fix them or I’ll be dropping my subscription and go with a better reliable service!!!
Now the app shows devices Offline
A few ads are OK and understandable but they get worse and worse having to sit threw 8-10 ads before you can get to the app. And now when you do get to the app it will show Devices Offline. I have to restart app several times, watching the adds again before the cameras can be viewed.

App sucks completely ignores security purposes. Gonna look into a better camera system, a better competitor!
ADS, cancelling subscription and getting new ones
So disappointed that the app now has ads every time you open the damn app. It’s soooo annoying and unnecessary. I literally pay a subscription and still get ads like ???? Also crashes very often. I understand trying to get revenue to provide better services or whatever but many customers would rather pay lore than have ads for SECURITY cameras. Stupidest decision ever: why would I want to wait for an ad to lead while I’m trying to see if someone is breaking into my house?

Ads and terrible reply time
As a security surveillance, why would anyone want to 45 seconds to view footage. Do you know how much happens in 45 seconds of security footage?!?!? A hell of a lot!! I did not consent to this and do not wish for the ads!

And lots of them. You shouldn’t have to sift through ads that force you to click out of them multiple times to view your home security cameras. Also, camera service is spotty now too. These guys have just gotten worse and worse!
DO NOT USE ZMODO
You now have to get through ads just to see your camera footage. I already pay $400./yr for my cameras, and I have dealt with the frequent video lag when movement is detected. Now I have to waste time getting through the ads. When a company does not value their customers and doesn’t care that even though there may be times when seconds matter in some situations, ads are more important to ZMODO. Now I have to keep closing and re-opening the app because it frequently says the cameras are offline and 2 seconds later, they are back online. Run from ZMODO as fast as you can!

Endless ads in critical monitoring
Ads are never ending when you most need to monitor an elder. These began very adequate, but to go through the ads when time is short, just not convenient.

I can’t believe this. Last update plays ads with no way to skip. On top of that it has stopped working with my NVR completely.
Completely useless now
This use to be a good camera system and app, now the ads are so bad that I can’t even access my cameras. Every camera says offline yet I receive notifications on each camera all day long. About ready to rip the whole system out and go somewhere else if they can’t fix this non sense soon. I shouldn’t have to watch 10 minutes of ads just to review and see a notification that pops up on a camera each time.

NO!!!
As of 9/3/2026 the new update puts ads and adult looking content at the bottom of the screen.
