Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Telmex at 4.6 against Programación TV México's 3.0. Telmex also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 39 months) and ratings volume (6.1K vs 2). Programación TV México's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 10%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Telmex holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Telmex has 6.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Programación TV México's written reviews are positive against 10% of Telmex's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Programación TV México ships an update every 39 months, Telmex monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
