This requires Motorola Flex 6.3 with the 2020.2.2 or later release. The Flex Touch® app is designed to provide public safety agencies a quick and convenient way to access common Motorola Flex features using a smartphone or tablet. Personnel with the proper credentials can use Flex Touch to monitor their agency’s calls from anywhere and at any time from the convenience of a mobile device. Flex Touch allows personnel to search their agency database for names, property, vehicles, and incidents from a mobile device. Personnel can also view Flex Involvements® related to any record. In addition, the module helps promote officer safety by displaying records with warrants or alert warnings. The user-friendly design makes it easy for personnel to quickly learn how to navigate the app. Flex Touch allows personnel to access real-time call updates by viewing all active calls, call nature, and any assigned units. Each user can customize the list of calls and units within the jurisdiction. Calls are organized by unit status, providing a quick way to see whether officers have arrived on the scene and if a unit’s timer has expired. When a user has been assigned to a call, that information is displayed prominently. In addition to accessing information, Touch allows first responders to more efficiently complete their work. Users can view call comments and enter their own comments from their mobile device. Using Touch, users can quickly add photos or documents from their mobile device to a record or to a report. Flex Touch requires that the agency uses Motorola Flex and has already purchased the Flex Touch module.

B4C — Before the Call is the readiness platform built for fire and EMS departments. It keeps the records that prove your department is ready — station hours, certifications, turnout gear, and apparatus — organized, verified, and ready the moment an inspector, board member, or grant office asks. B4C is an administrative platform, not a dispatch or response tool. It handles everything that happens before the call: the training, the credentials, the equipment, and the hours that keep your people and your apparatus ready to roll. VERIFIED STATION HOURS Log duty and standby hours with location verification, so the time that feeds your ISO rating, LOSAP awards, stipends, and grant reporting is accurate and defensible. With the optional geofencing add-on, station hours log automatically — members are checked in when they arrive at the station and out when they leave, no manual punches. CERTIFICATIONS THAT NEVER LAPSE QUIETLY Track every member's certifications and expiration dates, attach proof, and get ahead of what's expiring before it becomes a compliance gap. TURNOUT GEAR AND EQUIPMENT Assign gear to members, record serial numbers and condition, and track each item to its NFPA service life so nothing rides past its retirement date. APPARATUS CHECKS, MAINTENANCE, AND CAPITAL PLANNING Record rig checks, log maintenance and costs, and keep a full service history. Set a replacement year for apparatus and equipment and B4C projects the future cost and the savings plan to be ready for it. TRAINING AND ATTENDANCE Verified training sign-in closes the honor-system loophole, and attendance flows straight into your compliance numbers. FUNDRAISING, DONATIONS, AND SPONSORS Plan and run fundraisers end to end in Fundraiser HQ — turn a plan into action items and calendar dates, draft appeal and sponsor letters, and track sponsors and proceeds. Record gifts, manage funds toward goals, and see what your department has raised this year. STATION ASSISTANT Ask questions about your department's own uploaded SOPs and policies and get grounded answers, plus general fire and EMS guidance. REPORTS AND A WEEKLY READINESS DIGEST Board-ready reports whenever you need them, and an automatic weekly email digest that surfaces expiring certs, gear due for retirement, and overdue maintenance before anything slips. Everything lives in one shared system: quick actions and reminders on the phone, deep administrative work on the web — one record of truth for your whole department. B4C is a product of Big Bull Technologies. B4C is a records and readiness platform and is not used for emergency dispatch or response. Do not rely on it in an emergency.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: B4C at 5.0 against Flex Touch's 2.2. B4C also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs every 4 weeks). Flex Touch's advantage is ratings volume (30 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
B4C holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flex Touch has 30 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Flex Touch ships an update every 4 weeks, B4C every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
