Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer at 4.8 against PaceShouter's 1.0. Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer also leads on ratings volume (86K vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). PaceShouter's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 61%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and PaceShouter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer has 86K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of PaceShouter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Interval Timer □ HIIT Timer ships an update every 5 weeks, PaceShouter every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
