Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Verkada Pass at 2.7 against FaceUp's 1.0. Verkada Pass also leads on ratings volume (82 vs 1) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). FaceUp's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 36%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Verkada Pass holds the better App Store score, 2.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Verkada Pass has 82 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of FaceUp's written reviews are positive against 36% of Verkada Pass's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

FaceUp ships an update monthly, Verkada Pass every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
