Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Nivo at 95% against Thirdfort's 16%. Nivo also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). Thirdfort's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (707 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Thirdfort holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thirdfort has 707 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Nivo's written reviews are positive against 16% of Thirdfort's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Nivo ships an update every 2 weeks, Thirdfort every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
