The call

The clearest difference is rating: FranklinWH at 3.5 against M Tool's 3.0. FranklinWH also leads on ratings volume (92 vs 2). M Tool's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 38%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

FranklinWH holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FranklinWH has 92 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of M Tool's written reviews are positive against 38% of FranklinWH's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

M Tool ships an update every 3 weeks, FranklinWH fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
