The Alice Metrics app controls the Alice oil gauge, which measures how much oil you have in your tank and gives you freedom to order cheaper on-demand oil. With the app, you can: - See how many gallons is left in your tank - Get notifications when you’re running low or have met the delivery minimum for on-demand oil providers - View your historical oil consumption and tank level What’s the difference between auto-fill and on-demand oil? If you’re an auto-fill customer, your oil provider decides when to fill your tank based on a computer program; they don’t actually know how much oil you have left. This can lead to unexpected empty tanks if you have a house full of guests or severe weather moves in. Alice can help with this. And Alice can just help you feel more secure by letting you know how much oil is in your tank. In addition, being an auto-fill customer means you’re paying up to $0.40 more per gallon, since oil providers charge a premium for delivering oil to your home automatically and allowing you to maintain a credit account with them. Why doesn’t everybody use on-demand oil, then? Companies that offer on-demand oil charge less per gallon, but they also require a minimum amount of oil per delivery, which means you have to know how much oil is in your tank. You also have to remember to place the order when you need it. Without Alice, you may need to make regular trips down to the basement to check your oil level.
